If anyone watched the Green Bay - Texans game then you proably got a good look at what a good DL looks like in the first qtr. The packers were in Shaubs face the entire time only using a LB and Foster gets only 29 yards on 17 carries from what a lot called the best OL in the NFL. That is what the Steelers DL used to look like and was a big reason teams couldn't run and the reason we can't run, because the down linemen are pushing the blockers backward into the backfield. Our DL needs a major upgrade and once that happens you'll see a better D unless the FO still thinks that Zigggy is the answer.

We already knew this, but our DL play has simply confirmed what a GREAT player Aaron Smith was throughout his career. He was dominant and tied up two and sometimes three OL. Shoot, Ziggy to be so strong is usually easily handled by one blocker. He's the poster child for mediocrity and looks like a career backup to me.

It's a shame Aaron Smith won't end up in the HOF, he should be a lock, but his position in a 3-4 hurts him. He is perhaps the best 3-4 DE in the history of the NFL. I know he was hurt all the time, but I can't help but wonder if we cut him too early. We could really use him.

As for Hood, I don't think he's a bust, he's just in the wrong scheme. He's a 4-3 pass rusher, and we have him converted to a 3-4 blocker. That's not his strength at all and I have no idea what Colbert was thinking. If you want to convert a 4-3 guy, don't take one in the 1st round.

Aaron Smith had injuries the last couple of years. The one injury was the torn tricep.Yes when healthy he was a dominant player. Years ago when Aaron and Troy were injured you really seen how that hurt our defense big time. As far as Hood and Heyward, I would much rather have Heyward in there.

Yes, I believe he has trade value for a 4 3 team. The Steelers usually never trade but considering how weak there secondary is they just may listen to any offers.
