The demise of the Steelers defense

IMO you only do that when you take over mid year or at a college and you haven't had time to recruit your own guys yet, but you need to win now.

When you are building a team, you pick guys who you think can play your system, you don't play a system after you have everyone together. DL shouldn't be above criticism, but his flaws are lack of trust in young guys more than what he is trying to accomplish IMO. We are now trying to rebuild our D, you don't do that with young guys by having them sit on the bench. Seattle didn't create a defense to match who they drafted, they drafted guys who they believed could do what they wanted to do. THAT is how you build a professional team. Why does Cleveland suck? Well, how many years can you change the coach and put in a different system like they have. We don't change much, but we also are arguably the most successful pro team in the Super Bowl era ever. Hard to argue with that.

 

You know what the definition of insanity is: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...2 years ago the defense was very very average( and thats being generous).. with the same scheme and the same players we didn't create a turnover until week 6...Adjustments needed to be made...does that fall on DL or MT im not sure...

Lets go back to when DL came back to The Steel City in 2004...#1 D...2005#1 D... 2006 #9 D (down year for DL.. barely in the top 10)......My giving him a lifetime pass may have been a little much. But he not only deserves one more year...HE HAS EARNED IT!!!

Results look almost identical for 10 seasons. If thats insanity.....We finish in the top 5 D over and over for 10 years...I hope the results NEVER change!! PLEASE CALL ME INSAINE!!! Thank You DL!!! Enjoy your last ride!! YOU HAVE EARNED IT!!!
