    Actually, it's defending the slot:

"Opponents are 35-for-40 for 530 yards and 4 TDs to the slot vs. the Steelers" Jesus, that's horrible. It's like we don't even cover the slot receiver.

both. Steelers are 27th in rush yards a game(139.3) and 14th in rush yards attempt(4.1) allowed.

rushing offense even worse. 29th(64 yards/g) and 25th in attempt (3.8).

not sure if not being able to run and allowing people to run on you is a recipe for success lol

That stat line incidentally looks like one that Mahomes posted on us last year, except he had 5 TDs, not 4.

I think this could have something to do with the emphasis they placed on creating turnovers last week. We rushed Jimmy G. with a passion and tried to jump routes.

I wonder which tarot card will come up to determine this weeks defensive game plan?

I think this whole hybrid db experiment isn't working. We use to at least be able to stop one or the other. We use to be able to stop the run and get gashed in the passing game. We are bringing a hybrid db in, Barron to cover TE's. He's hurting us in the run game and hurting us in the passing game. Now we are getting gashed everywhere.

The teams we played are a combined 8-1. Two on the road. With all of our injuries we are two games back only.

A lot of teams are doing this, more efficiently of course.

But the lighter these defenses get, I'd love to see a return of the "big back". Just start pounding all these little LB's into oblivion. :hehehe:

They could've fooled me. Snell is 224 lbs but kinda runs like a big back.

I was thinking along those lines, that we have played tough teams and yet had a chance to win in two of them. That would be the optimistic appraisal. When we play the lowly Bungles, we will find out more about where we really are.

    ?!

Defenses biggest weakness stopping the run?! I beg to differ. As opposed to outlining and detailing what the biggest issue is, let me show you the illustration instead.

    Here you go!!!

Hybrids don't work in the NFL at the LB position. NFL OL are too big and good.

You take that back. Butler is loving himself a long snapper who can play tight end and OLB

I am not not taking nothing back. I speak the truth. Where are the Ray Lewis's of the world?
There out there, you have to find them. C'mon people a 300 pound SKILLED OL against
a 220 pound LB. This my friends is a MISMATCH. that does not go well. LOL.
I will take a 5 yd run everyday. Review TJ WATT in SF last week. He is going nuts because
the Steelers COULDN"T STOP THE RUN. Tomlin has to settle him down on the sideline he is that mad.

Good. He’s passionate despite this dumpster fire. I feel like he’s gonna be like his brother... a good player in a non SB winning career

He needs to step up his game if he is going
to accomplish what his brother has DONE.

That slot you refer to has always been our Achilles heel, with the probable cause our zone defense. Worse yet, when was the last time we could stop the run?
