Every report I hear on SteelersDepot is that he is at best a fringe roster player. If he isn't terrible it's noteworthy.

Also heard some reports of Layne improving. He was always going to take time as a former WR. It would be great if he could even offer some reliable depth

I have a gut feeling that Sutton will not be the starting outside corner all year. I think Pierre will be moved to that spot.

Somebody needs to step up at both cb and safety positions .For depth.

True, but he had to be the No. 1 corner in that game because Haden was out. Haden will be the one on Diggs much of the time in the opener.

Pierre has stepped up, and he will likely be the #3 CB, Brooks and Maulet will probably play the slot CB along with Sutton.

I think Sutton just got Demoted to the #3 Slot Corner position because of injuries and his play this preseason..

Layne just had his best game I have seen against the Lions.

It may come down to the final Preseason game between Layne and Pierre to who wins the battle at the #2 CB position.

Layne vs. Pierre. Coming down to the wire like I thought it would. It will be interesting to see who surpasses who for that coveted number two spot. My money is still on Pierre but Layne has been gaining ground after the first week of Training Camp.
