Yeah the last two episodes of Breaking Bad are just case studies in absolute awesomeness.

I've watched through Firefly and Serenity twice (some when it originally aired on TV, and later on DVD and streaming). I really wish that show would have either not been canceled or would have been brought back. The networks never gave it a time slot that it had a chance in.

Now that you've finished Breaking Bad, you should check out Better Call Saul. It's the same world, and so it still *kind of* feels like Breaking Bad, but focused on Saul and Mike, instead. Good show that has really grown on me, especially now in the second season.

I watched the first season of BCS because I knew it was pre Breaking Bad but have been avoiding this season because I didn't want to see any spoilers. I'll catch up now.

Another show to watch, if it hasn't been mentioned, is Spartacus. Amazing show, especially season 1 and the following season which is actually a prequel to the first season because the actor, Andy Whitfield who played Spartacus was undergoing cancer treatment. Unfortunately he took a turn for the worse and passed away so they continued on with another actor.

Blount, you will definitely have to avoid this show :lolol:

Yeah my buddy told me about Spartacus and then he was like "But you can't watch it". LOL! The same goes for Game of Thrones and House of Cards. I tried to watch it but there was a scene on there that was just so gratuitous that I turned it off and will never watch it again. I'm a political junkie and the subject matter is right up my alley but man it was just way too over the top from a sexual standpoint.

Spartacus is probably the most gratuitous, violent show I have ever watched :lolol:

I never got into House of Cards or Game of Thrones.

You don't know what you're missing. (BFT knows, but that's his choice, and I respect it.)

(Probably my favorite line ever is the last one in this trailer. So fitting.)

Thanks Ray. Yeah, its one of those shows that I just keep putting off to watch, my best friend used to talk about it a lot.

Maybe its time to finally get this one going :thumbs up:

Have to agree. My wife and I binge watched this a little while back, not really knowing what to expect. We saw it was on Netflix and I said something like, "Blast said it was good...let's give it a watch."
I had a harder time with it at first mainly due to the cinematography. It was captivating though, and we watched up until the first couple episodes of War of the Damned. It was hard to keep interest when they replaced Spartacus (though, understandable of course).

Anyway, the scene where they executed Ilithyia's gladiator was probably the most disturbing thing ever in a TV series. :getsick: :lollmao:

    That poor bastard :lolol:

    That was brutal.

Another thing I loved about that show was the dialect, that must have been challenging for the actors.

Did you watch the prequel? Highly recommend that one too.

I've never seen that show but what do you mean about the cinematography? Like it was cheesy or something? That's the reason I can't hardly watch Dr. Who, even though I would really like to be able to enjoy it, because those BBC shows have this campy nature to me or something. I can't really put my finger on it.

The worst death in the history of dying. :lolol:

I did. I didn't think I was going to be able to get into it, because of the absence of Andy Whitfield, but it was really good.

Yeah, basically. They used a lot of video game like CG that was strange to me at first. Either it improved or I got used to it. I'm proud to say I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who. I hear it's good, though.

Yeah I've seen some of the Eccleston Dr. Who and it's actually really awesome stories but the BBC production stuff is just hard for me to deal with. Since you're an X-Files fan you would probably really like it.

I'm not a big TV guy, especially newer shows, but I have been watching Billions - great show by the way.

I've always been a big Damien Lewis fan since watching Band of Brothers many years ago, so I started watching Homeland recently. Only a couple of episodes in but seems like a really intriguing show.

I'm not averse to sexual plotlines, but most of these shows seem to throw it on in the most in your face way, when I'd actually rather they show the numerous storylines available instead of 3 minutes of soft porn.

Game of Thrones ticks me off, because there's so much they could be doing from the books.

Spartacus...I had to ban that from my sailors because I walked in on another sex scene and they had the lights off and door shut. All I heard from the passageway was grunting and moaning....walked in and see nakedness and a guy pelvic thrusting while carrying on some dialog with his wife.

That would be Batiatus and Lucretia, who owned and ruled over the Ludus where the gladiators trained and fought. I don't think there was one episode where sex wasn't on display :lolol:

When I read that I thought you were saying that you caught two of YOUR sailors doing that while watching Spartacus. LOL!!!

They were probably having a dialogue while being serviced by their concubines. From a historical standpoint, it's probably not unlikely they lived that way.

No, That would have sucked. They were 2 of my better sailors. I only came close to catching that once and we ended up putting that one out later on for that same thing. (wasn't a very smart sailor)

I had never seen 1 episode of Parks and Recreation despite being such a fan of The Office. I watched the first 2 seasons. Overall, I'm not that impressed. Not sure if I will continue.

There's only 1 character I really enjoyed and I believe I will have to start using some Ron Swanson memes in the upcoming season. :hehehe:

I've heard the first season of that show is really bad but a lot of people say it found its stride a little later and became required viewing. I've still never watched it though. I'm a die hard fan of The Office though.

For those that are too young, or just missed them the first time around, there's a fairly new network called H&I. Heroes and Icons. They show older action series' like "Hill Street Blues", "Mannix", "Combat" and "NYPD Blue" (oddly, this show wasn't censored when it was on network TV but now it is. I guess we're all too "sensitive" now.Even if you don't like the shows, it's cool to see young actors who are household names now! A couple weeks ago, I saw an episode of "Mannix" that had a safecracker in it that was played by a VERY young Martin Sheen.
