Pacman isn't getting any younger and he is a pain in the neck. The Bengals like to draft DB's high anyway.

This notion that the Bengals plunked us is just

First of all, none of us have ANY idea where Jackson and Burns sat on our draft board. Both guys are height/weight/speed prospects with some good tape and some bad tape. Colbert and Co. may have been sitting there for a half hour hoping no one took Burns, and said "whew" when Jackson was taken at 24.

Second, the Bengals have had issues evaluating and drafting the corner position recently. They've sunk two recent 1st rounders into the corner position, yet their only productive corners were both 32+ year old guys. Kirkpatrick was a 6' tall Antoine Blake last season, and Dennard (who I desperately wanted us NOT to draft 2 years ago) has had his face on a milk carton so far. If they love Jackson over Burns, great.

Considering the source, I firmly believe that if the Bengals had landed Treadwell at 24, this sour thread would still be here, but it would called something like "the Bengals got a great WR, we're doomed."

I'm glad they took Jackson instead of Treadwell. Treadwell with Green could've been scary. Had he made it to us, I would've been fine with us taking him instead haha kid can play

Jackson isn't a home run prospect. High ceiling sure, but lots of work to do. All the corners not named Ramsey in this year's draft do. I wasn't super hyped about Burns, but I don't think is is a much inferior prospect to WJ3. We took a player with a lot of upside at a position of need. Hard to complain with that. Let's hope they got the pick right.

I am pleased by that. Not having Sanu and Jones brings a smirk to my face.

Jealousy and envy of us has the Bengals doing any and everything to try and stop us. This is a good lesson for us to learn just how far they will go to spite us. It's not just Burfict; it's the entire organization in Cincinnati.

It's a stupid way to do it if indeed your conspiracy theory is correct. Just as stupid as the Ravens if they picked the former Washington Natinals manager last year just to stop us picking him.

Bengals are irrelevant. I am more worried about the Ravens

Last night I was mad but now I just want us to focus on the task at hand. We've upgraded the cornerback position of our team. We need to now focus on DL/OLB and Safety. Not necessarily in that order. We stay the course, and upgrade our entire defense and win the Super Bowl. Then make every other team bow down. :drinks:

Well, like the rest of the Bengals I will be looking for WJ3's roster info on the FBI's most wanted page, however, in years past isn't this kind of thread usually reserved for the Ravens?

I would say with the speed they took Burns they must have had their eye on him the whole time. Wouldn't you? I read where Mayock said some teams had a 3rd rd grade on him but others thought he was the best cb in the draft. Mayock had AZ pegged as the team that would take Burns in the first. So if we at least screwed over BA I'm actually happy about that. LOL!

I think Colbert had a back up plan. Which is good.

Every team does I'm sure but I wonder if they wanted Apple? That's who Mayock said he thought they would take. Since he said that some teams had Burns rated highly I'd like to know which teams that was.

Out of curiosity, I'd like to know too. I'm happy that Colbert addressed our most pressing need. Now we have to go down the list and continue to fix stuff. I was hoping that Joseph would slide out but the Raiders made a good pick.

I would reaaaaaally love to know if Mr. Rooney might have had a say in what position we took. He was flat out vocal a few months ago about the secondary and that's why I say that.

Actually corner was a need for them:

    From Bengals 2016 draft coverage:
Defensive back: Whether it's a corner or safety, Cincinnati has the need. Shawn Williams is still unproven, despite admirably filling in for Reggie Nelson last season, and Derron Smith is even more of an unknown. Behind Adam Jones, the Bengals don't really know what they have at corner. Dre Kirkpatrick has been up-and-down, Darqueze Dennard is coming off injury and Josh Shaw has only played limited snaps. That's not to say that none of these players can contribute, but the team still needs to find another corner.

I was looking at their need chart before their pick on CBS and cornerback was not a top 3 need for them. Doesn't matter now anyway. We got our guy and now it's time to work on our front 7 or the safety spot.

Well BFT if it is my money that is controlling this team and I said get a CB and it didn't happen. There'd be a coach and a GM looking for work this morning. Ask Brucie about that

To add insult to injury, the Bengals are going to select Tyler Boyd in Round 2.
