That's why the entire team went after the guy who made the interception.

you play until the whistle is blown, do you not? Hence why the entire team still went after him.

Dk coughed up the ball on a drive that had us able to score a FG, and we lost by 2 points.

True the Steelers did take the L. Just like they did on their next game, that was a week and half later.

But you agree he actually made the play to touch him down? Frankly I was a bit more concerned with what Roman Wilson was doing. Kinda froze and got lit up.

you never assume you touched someone and give up. it is why you play until the whistle is dead.

    also at least Roman Attempted.

Considering what's wrong with the team, why is this hill the one you're choosing to die on?

Shoot, there's a lot that bothers me. Most being coaching and I think that has been beaten to death by our screaming.

About halfway through the season and the Steelers are at 25.3 ppg (t-12).

While not exactly setting the world on fire, this is above average. The NFL median is ~ 24 ppg. I think this might be higher than the last few seasons, but I didn't go back and check. I wonder if winter ends up dropping the average ppg in the back half of seasons?

Its not the bump we got from kicking Kenny and Canada to the curb, but it's a pretty big improvement (although we've still got 9 games left).

    • 2021 20.2
    • 2020 26.0 <-- Would be nice if we could equal or beat this mark.
Churning QBs over the last few seasons has been a big part of this improvement IMO. So has hiring a real NFL OC instead of Canada.

Pass happy league thus far... (NFL average 57%, probably skewed a bunch by CIN). Still it doesn't look like the normal A Smith offense of balance. Not surprised to see losers passing a lot either.

Bad teams fall behind and have to pass more. winning teams playing with a lead run the ball more. This is what the ends of the graph show.

Not really since he was already a head coach prior to serving under Tomlin.

No doubt. Perhaps a bit more interesting is which teams are most aggressive with the pass right out of the gate. This paints a little different picture. (Notice where the Steelers next opponent falls. DBs better be ready)

(looking at the Steelers in particular their pass/run ratio barely moves up/down from the 1st to the 4th quarter....)

Or it might have something to do with our young offensive linemen still learning how to work together
