The 3rd phase of the game should be recognized.

Special Teams is significantly improved this year. I cant remember a game with the Ravens where we didnt get outplayed by them having an overall affect on the final outcome. Outside of the first bad punt, nothing the ravens did in ST stood out to me. A draw in ST with the Rats should be recognized as a job well done.

 

Nobody notices special teams unless they fail at doing their jobs. Punting could be better at times.

 

Good special teams play is like pissing your pants in a dark suit, you get a warm feeling for a minute but nobody notices.

 

It’s been good but this would have been a whole different thread if Berry on the last punt threw up his typical 35 - 40 yarder. He needs hang time and hit a big one at the right time before the last drive, kudos it was clutch when most needed.

 

It sure helps that we finally got somebody back there can catch and run after the catch. So frustrating watching for so many years with people back there that could not run fast and we just kept putting them back there for years. It looked like it wasn't important to the coaching staff. It makes such a huge difference in field position and it shows this year.
