What are your thoughts and opinions?

Personally I believe Javon has done far better than others give him credit for.

Davis is my pick. He has taken on not only the safety position but is used as a corner. He should be the starting SS next season if not sooner.

Hargrave needs to improve on technique and in run defense.

Burns should be starting next season.

And who doesn't like what Dirty Red brings to the table.

Burns for me. I didn't like the pick and didn't think he contribute at all this year, but he's been a pleasant surprise.

I like the picks, unfortunately they can't help us much this year.

Early days for all of them. I'm not disappointed in any of them, in the sense that they are on the field, and have all shown a bit of promise. They've also made some rookie mistakes (particularly Davis and Burns), but that's what you have to expect.

Hargrave is probably the best performer of the four so far, though he hasn't been helped by Heyward's injury.

In the end I voted for Matekevich, simply because he's lived up to his preseason billing of a hard-hitting STer who may grow into something better (like Chickillo is showing some signs of this year).

I went with Hargrave. Burns has been absurdly bad against the run. Really bad to the point where we probably get better run defense on the edge from Landry Jones. To me, that would take him out of the running as most impressive rookie thus far.

Burns shows a ton of potential but as a rookie he is still making a lot of mistakes.

I did not expect as much playing time from Hargrave but maybe that's more a failure of McCullers?

I went with Dirty Red. He hasn't had the snap count others have had but his production is better than the others when considering snap count. He has surpassed LJ Fort on the depth chart and doesn't make mental mistakes. He's also a great ST player, always around the ball.

None have stood out - good or bad. IMO that's probably good long term.

I like Burns but he is still quite raw. He was also a track and field athlete in college so maybe that time away from football stunted his growth as a DB a bit. His father is incarcerated and his mother died last October. This kid has had a LOT on his plate but the talent is there. He'll be a good contributor long-term.

He's a different player than Big Mac. He's being used in the 2 down lineman set and his goal is to get pressure.

Too early to tell. Hargrave is OK.. but he's no rookie '01 Casey Hampton... but who is?

Burns and Davis will show flashes, but won't be solid contributors until next year at the earliest.

Matekevich.. good on special teams, not enough snaps on D yet to know whether he will contribute.

Way too early to tell, but the fact that we're relying on three rookies so early in the season speaks to the condition of our defense at the end of last year.

It wasn't playing "lights out", if you will.

Meh. I like them all but they haven't done much. I've seen "it" a few times. Think we'll like them a lot down the road.
