That ring you just heard, was Goodell on the phone to KC, telling them to lay down.

Getting back to the original post,
KC is scaring me totally. Of all the teams
we need to win next Sunday, they scare
me the most. Oh well lets go play the games and see what happens.

I think the game that is going to affect us negatively is the Jets-Dolphins game. I can't see the Jets winning that one. All we can do is :praying:

The jets suck and Miami won't lay down at home with a chance to make postseason. Balt and SD losing along with Steelers winning seem more reasonable.

When the Steelers made the playoffs in the 2007 season they were 10-5 going into their final game against Baltimore with no hope of being better than the #4 seed. They proceeded to "lay" down by starting Charlie Batch at QB as opposed to Ben.

Look if KC wants to protect injured players or avoid injuries you can't blame them, if they were to go into that game and Alex Smith gets creamed and is out of the playoff game against Indy or Cincy, the press would crucify Reid.

I could care less whether Alex Smith starts or not. I just hope the starting O-line and Jamaal Charles are going to go for the whole game.

I am glad the game means something on Sunday. After 0-4 and then 2-6 to think we are still available for a playoff spot is pretty amazing. If they don't make it in I think the injuries to Pouncey and Foote are a lot bigger than any of us thought. It took that many weeks to gel as a unit. I think we have found some OL help and hopefully we can look for a CB or skill position player in the first rounds instead of OL. I am impressed that there is still a chance. I like the direction the team is going and I am feeling a lot better about next year. We have some definite holes to fill but maybe it is not as bad as I originally thought.

I watched large parts of the Jets win and the Dolphins loss yesterday. From that experience I think the Jets have a shot- they looked good on both sides of the ball and played hard in a far less meaningful game. Ryan wants to save his job, and it is a hated divisional rival. Meanwhile, the Bills D just completed smothered the Dolphins. The score was far more lopsided than even the 19-0 margin suggests, and Tannehill got hurt.

One of the few good things Goodell has done is set up divisional matchups the final week. These rivalries do mean something. I just think that if the Chargers were good enough to beat the Broncos on the road, then they can beat KC at home in week 17. I don't expect Charles to play very much, sadly.

Rex Ryan and his team are capable of occasionally building pretty decent game plans. Sometimes, they take it personal, sometimes they don't. With Rex's job on the line, I expect him to pull out all of the stops, finish 8-8 and be able to say that next year, with no longer a rookie QB, he can get the job done.

The question remains: Will the Chiefs play their starters? Or lay down? I haven't heard anyone ask Andy what he is going to do yet. He'll need to answer tomorrow, in his presser. Let's see if the fat man will lay down yet again, or actually show some integrity, and play to win.

So is it automatically laying down if they rest their starters?
