After yet another nightmare baseball season I am so pumped for the Steelers to get underway. Usually I'm antsy as hell days before the first regular season game but this year is a tough one for me. I have real trouble watching Brady and company. I hate night games, really hate the wait. Worse thing will be the raising of their 6th SB banner before the game. It will be a smack in Steeler fans face. Their fans will love raising it in front of the team they tied with #6:( Let's face it, those bean town fans will be super pumped. So glad the Blues stopped the Bruins.

Hate to be a debbie downer right off the bat but I really can't see anyway we win that game. I guess I'll have to settle for 15-1:)

Psst.....I think I have Kimo's cell number around here somewhere. If not, I think Tonya Harding's still making the rounds. :club:

The NFL sucks for scheduling the Patriots to host the Steelers in week 1 when they unveil their #6 banner. It's an obvious slap in the face to the Steelers franchise. It's also quite depressing knowing there's no hope for victory given the Steelers track record at Foxborough since 2001. The game will be close at first, but by mid-way through 3rd quarter... it will be out of reach and Patriots can go on cruise control. Steelers offense will be out of sync badly... which is typical for September games. Plus, the D will get thrashed by Brady since Steelers will have a lot of new faces in starting roles.

Devils Advocate argument: They have to schedule someone to do the opener at NE. And NBC wants a good a matchup. Here are the other NE home opponents: NYJ, MIA, BuF, NYG, CLE, DAL and KC.

KC did the opener there 2 yrs ago the last time the Pats raised a banner, I suspect the league and the network didn't want to do a repeat. That leaves DAL, and I imagine Fox wasn't interested in giving up that interconference game. So, who does that really leave? Who would you schedule if you were in charge?

Pats are slow starters like the Steelers. If you are going to catch them in Foxborough it’s going to be in an early game like this the way KC did two years ago.

Steelers have a punchers chance in this one, but I wouldn’t bet any money on it.

Maybe the Steelers should just forfeit the game and then I would be able to get some sleep before getting up before dawn on Monday morning. As I get older I find myself hating night games more and more. I give the Steelers about a 15% chance of winning this game and that even seems generous.

It only takes one time to start a trend and why not the Steelers and why not now? I see a lot of reasons why ppl think they can't win but some of those are smoke and mirrors. This isn't the same team that won in February. They have some new parts as well. If they flip the script on BB he will have a rough day and will have to adjust on the fly. If they play the way they have in years past it will be 50/50 on who wins. Juju has shown up big in his first 2 yrs against the Pats. They jump out fast and keep the pedal down the pressure switches to Brady.

I think that the Steelers will out play them but lose on a controversial call. Everyone will be talking about the holding that wasn't called when Brady threw the game winning TD or about how we got screwed on the new PI rule. I can see it now Brady throws a Hail Mary at the end of the game that is batted away but Belichick challenges the call and the Pats are awarded the ball on the one yard line.

As everyone loves to point out, the NFL is entertainment. What's more entertaining than the only 2 teams with 6 trophies playing each other?
Just remember, STEELERS did it first!

They should've scheduled KC for the season opener, the NFL always likes to have the teams from the championship games play each other in week 1.

I totally agree on Steelers forfeiting the game. Gonna be a loss anyway. Might as well get another week of practice in.

Ugh I totally forgot the game was in Foxboro. Will definitely have to skip the opening on this one unless I'm in need of vomiting.

If the NFL like to rematch the championship games in week 1, how come they only done it once for the SB champions opener in the last 15yrs?

I must have missed watching this game. Was it televised nationally? Did I have the dates mixed up (I do that a lot)? I will have to ask my wife where I was when the game was on. Anyhow, I see we lost. Was the game close? How did Ben play? How did JuJu do in his first game as the #1? Did Bush start or get any snaps? I hate to see the loss, but I guess I will move on to the next game!

I don't mind it at all. This game will show the world what the Steelers are made of. If flashing that 6th banner in our face is not motivating enough to crush these guys ..then we can't be taken serious anymore. For me it's Superbowl or bust. If the Patriots pass us up in Superbowl wins ..that'll hurt

Sometimes you just got to go out and beat the schedule and the ref's, but I wouldn't bet on it. We just start too slow every year and it takes Ben a couple of games to get into a groove. I know NE starts slow also but not as bad as us and they make game adjustments where we usually don't.

IF MT has the Steelers ready to play, we can play with any one including NE.
