I heard that on the radio and actually hadn't thought of that at all. That could be a big deal for the Steelers but I do wonder if his intention is to take a year off to kind of reset. Maybe the job that he would be the most interested in hasn't opened yet.

Yes this is a good thing for the Steelers which if Tomlin was the author of that then I give him major props for that.

I do not like to see anyone lose their job. Tomlin was a respected coach, a good man and I feel a sense of loss at his departure. I relished in pictures of him going to Pirates and Penguins games with his boys. Truly, he embraced the Pittsburgh Tradition. A coach is only as good as his players. Too many times it appeared that the Steelers were flat and seemingly not interested in the game they were playing. Were they prepared? It really did not appear to be so, they always seemed to play down to their opponents. To me, that's a coaching issue. Oh yes, I got angry with the Steelers (and him) for their lackadaisical play. That's on the players, not necessarily on the coaches. I wish Coach Tomlin all the best and want him to know that I appreciated his sacrifice as well as his family's sacrifice, to better the Pittsburgh Steelers. I know now that certain "Tomlinisms" will forever bring a smile to my face....."Unleashing Hell in December...." The Standard is the standard..." and how could I ever forget when things went south...
    "We own it."

Good luck, Coach. You have made your mark on Pittsburgh. Thank you, sir.

Thanks for the memories, right? I was in high school when he helped us win the Super Bowl. Just because I am glad he no longer coaches the Steelers, doesn’t mean that I am not appreciative of all the good times there were in his tenure. Looking forward to what’s to come, but we have an enviable job opening because of our past.

Thank you, Coach Tomlin. Looking forward to the next chapter in Steelers football lore

We will all cheer for Mike when the Super Bowl reunions come around and he comes back.

He will probably go to Canton and we will all cheer.

He had a lot of success and there were some exciting moments, but the only thing constant in life is change. His legacy is cemented.
