Cleveland also receives Texans 2nd rd pick in 2018.

Weird trade, Texans out a starting QB and cost them their 2nd rd pick too :lolol:

Apparently it was all about getting out from under Brocks contract.

Cleveland now has two ones and two twos. Unreal. And I'd be willing to bet they deal that #1 overall before the draft.

I do not think it was as weird for the Texans as some are making it out to be... at least from their financial standpoint.

Houston clearly does not want to absorb that high a cap hit in the upcoming season. They found a partner and made a deal with them to free up some salary. Yes.. it also cost them a pick; a high one at that, but one of their biggest offseason duties is now completed.

It will be interesting to see what Cleveland does next.

Did I just read the Browns were/are going to cut Brock?
They did it just for the pick?

I bet this for sure means the Texans are gonna basically rent Romo for a year or two to try and make a run. Although will they be able to afford him since they probably owe Brock some guaranteed money that will be going against their cap for the next little while?

So I looked in to this and apparently Houston is saving money by letting him go. They now won't have to pay him the money he was owed next year which is like $16 million and 10 million in cap space. Plus Cleveland gets that 2nd round pick and I read where Cleveland gave the most backhanded compliment of all time. They said "We are really excited to acquire a 2nd round draft choice". LOL!!! NOT we are really excited to have Brock but just we are really excited to have another draft choice. Ouch. LOL!

Yep, Welcome to the world of doing NBA Style trades, in the NFL...
While it is still technically illeagle to trade money for a draft pick,

The Clowns have basically done that, and been stupid enuff to announce their intentions after they did it..

They have been careful to not say, that they are gonna trade/release Osweiler, immediately after they "traded" for him,

But there is a whole lot of speculation from "league insiders', that they intend to do exactly that...

Methinks they have found a "loophole", in the CBA, wherein, they basically "bought" 2nd round pick from the Texans...

Really not that far-fetched, to believe that...

On the other hand, they are one team, that could make a believable case, that Osweiler, was better, than what they had on their roster..

There are a lot of "rumors", flying around right now, so no one knows for sure,

But This would give them another draft pick to package for Garropolo, or whoever,..

Hard to tell... Osweiler is probably better than anyone on their roster, cause they suck that bad at that position, but it gives them ammo to try and improve, thru a variety of options...

And they skirted the rules on "buying" a draft pick..

I`ll bet Belicheck is watching the results closely..

And seeing what he can do in the future...:nea:
