And for a defense that was paired with an offense that DID NOT PLAY OFFENSE I think they did as well as can be expected. Hard to maintain when the O is going 3 and out a dozen times a game and a punter that is constantly putting them in unfavorable field position.

I don't know what they will do but I will like the Steelers no matter what. Players and coaches come and go <well unless you are Tomlin>But the team the Logo is what I really like. I mean I'm getting too old to worry about if 49ers or cowboys tie us in Superbowl wins but for some stupid reason I do still care. So, if the hated Ravens play 49ers in Superbowl I have no choice but to root for RAVENS

 

I'll disagree.

A good defense prevents the other team from scoring. A very good or great defense prevents the other team from scoring and gives it's offense good field position and a better chance of scoring.

Our D did the first but failed on the second. We were a decent defense, but not really a very good one and far from a great one.

 

Yes injuries factored into it. A lethargic offense also factored into it. But, for the past couple years our defense seems really vanilla and so very dependent on one player.

 

I’ll argue that the Steelers offense failed the defense more so. Lack of sustaining drives and putting the D in poor field position wears on players.
