    This isnt entirely true.

Troy Fautanu never received a Dinner with the team. He was met by the team before the Pro Day though. Broderick Jones did have a Pro Day Dinner but not during his Draft Year in 2023; 2022 as the team was there to scout George Pickens. Kenny Pickett also didnt have a Pro Day Dinner but he is an outlier given he was at Pitt.

Overall, much of the Pro Day Dinner aspects of Scouting that the Steelers had done to determine a First Round Pick was done heavily through Kevin Colberts tenure. Now with Omar Khan?! Pre Draft Visits are a staple.

Troy Fautanu is the current biggest example; the aforementioned Private Meeting being likely something unrelated to it.

I wouldn't be opposed to them drafting a mid teir QB this year and drafting one next year also. I love this team, but in today's league you need an elite QB imo

Would not be shocked if they move up for him.

I wouldnt agree that it’s the best spot for him though. From a weapons standpoint yes, but not coaching, specifically Tomlin. A team with an offensive minded head coach would be a better landing spot.

I do like Sanders though, probably more than most here.

Tomlin would have ruined Tom Brady or even possibly Payton Manning. As a HC he wants total control of everything. The only coach that he has somewhat of a hands off approach with is ST’s coach Danny Smith. All other assistant coaches seem to have a very short leash.

I’m not sold on his talent level personally I’m not impressed

He will be a bigger pain in the ass than Rodgers was

Just my random thought of the day

A bigger Pain in the Ass than Rodgers? I’m not even sure Internal and external hemmeroids, 2 gerbils and a mountain bike with no seat could be bigger.

Except Ben thrived with the Steelers being right behind Manning and Brady in the AFC.

Ben was kept on a very tight leash for the first 3 qtrs of most games and then started calling audibles for many 4th qtr comebacks. Brady and Manning were given full control of their offenses from the coin flip on.

All signs say yes, he'll be that good. There is no sure thing. He was the most coveted HS QB in his recruiting (er, mercenary for $$$) class. Surely his name has him a bit OVERRATED, but he still could be overrated and the best QB draftee in 5 years.

Other than Texas having a good, not great Ewers starting, which may have actually held back Texas offense a bit compared to Manning, all signs are pointing up.

This Manning even has some serious wheels.

Reports of course, who knows official stuff:

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • 40-yard Dash Time: Manning's 40-yard dash time is reported as 4.62 seconds.
    • Source: This information comes from NFL Draft Buzz and Diario AS.
    • Other Measurables: Manning's height is listed as 6-4, and his weight is 225 pounds.
    • Speed: He has been clocked at speeds exceeding 20 mph, including a speed of over 20.3 mph, which is faster than NFL star Tyreek Hill's speed of 20.1 mph.
    • Dual-Threat Potential: Manning's athleticism and speed as a dual-threat quarterback have generated excitement about his potential for the Longhorns offense.
Before enrolling at Texas, Manning ran a 4.6 second 40-yard dash, according to On3.com.

All of those guys might go in the first round next year, this year only 2-3 QBs will go in the first round.

I agree, I don’t think he gets out of the top 10 but reports are all over the place.

Add Garrett Nussmeir from LSU on the list. With a good senior season in 2025 he could easily be a first round pick.

Agree. And don't be surprised if DJ Lagway is top 2 or 3 QB in the SEC next year.
