Team must (respectfully) part ways with Tomlin

Enough is enough. With so much talent and such a winnable division Mike Tomlin's team has fantastically underperformed... and this is just the latest example of that under-achievement.

Now I already know what people will say:

"He wins us a lot of games" Great, so where are the postseason results as of late to show for it?

"So who would you replace him with" Well, there are lots of great coaches ready to be hired.​

Look, I personally don't want to fire Tomlin out of anger. Far from it. My only urge to replace him is to bring in a coach who can deliver with arguable the most talented roster in the league on both sides of the ball.

Because 9-6-1 just isn't getting the job done, nor is only 5 playoff wins in the last decade. And this lack of performance isn't what I or anyone pays to see when we buy our tickets, merchandise, SundayTicket etc.

Mike Tomlin helped secure this franchise's 6th Lombardi Trophy, for which we will all be grateful for his contribution to this team's legacy. HOWEVER, as we all know, "The Standard is the Standard".

It's about time we live up to it.

 

These Tomlin sucks threads are gonna be more annoying than the bell threads.. Everybody knows that Tomlin blows already and everybody knows what should be done already.. Don't need to keep repeating what we already know

It’s a “look at me thing”.

 

Dude, the position of head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers is like being a Supreme Court Judge. It is for life. This is how the Rooney's roll. Tomlin will cease being the Steelers head coach when he retires.

 

I wonder if they would roll this way if the team was a perennial loser. Tim Benz had a good point, if Cowher never retired he would probably still be here with a similar record. And Tomlin would be who knows?

I have no problem keeping Tomlin, but I think Butler needs to be swapped out.

The steelers losing to every team that has a losing record or barely beating them is a problem which falls back on the coach not having them prepared. Raiders have won like 6 games in the past 5 yrs and 3 have been against the Steelers. They barely beat the bungals with a beat up team and a back up QB.....I am out before my blood pressure goes up....Go PENS!!!

 

I keep pointing out Cowher missed the playoff 3 consecutive years, two of which were losing seasons, and was the coach the following year until he retired.

 

Maybe we can channel the energy into something more productive, like Tomlin sucks letters to Rooney.

 

Quit whining about every thread. Heres a clue, you guys don't own the place. The good people that moderate the board are more than capable of deciding if threads need moved or not.
