Something to ponder....read an article last night that had us taking a TE in the first round? Forgot the guys name, but the point the writer made is that NE has Gronk and Hernandez, and those two open and add new elements to a playbook having a QB that can get it to them. The article said a pass cathcing TE such as those guys will make the O even better, and more dangerous as it will open things for the WR's. Thought?????

We have a good pass catching tight end. The New England game this year proved that, and did in fact open up the passing lanes for the widee receivers. But if the OC never calls plays to him, or keeps him in to block because the line can't give the quarterback time, we could have tebow himslef at tight end and it wouldn't make a difference.

I think the OP is referring to having two threats at TE, similar to how NE has Gronk and Hernandez. It seems to me like Saunders can be the other guy if used properly...he has the skill set and the athleticism and that catch he made in KC in the endzone was a thing of beauty. So in my opinion, no need to waste a high pick on a TE.

Time to fortify the foundation. If the offensive line stinks it doesn't matter how good the skill positions are.

:this!: Let's get the O-Line fixed first. That seems to be priority #1. Other than that , snag the best player at draft position.

Kinda sounds like Belicheat has stolen his offensive philosophy from Bruce arians!!!!!

Ya know what, that was fun to type that. I remember Bruce using many many two and three TE sets with a sure handed slot receiver in Ward ( our welker) and I remember fans hating it. Of course we didn't have the combined TE skillset that the patsies do.

answer to your question,,,, NO. Saunders will have his coming out party next season. Our OL & DL & ILB needs addressing 1st.

Apparently these people do not understand Steeler philosophy.
TE would not be a high choice unless it is a steal to get a player that really excites them.
    OG,NT,ILB, OL,QB, Safety.
