Their secondary was garbo. They had an elite front seven.

Yeah but they have no edge rushers, and their LBs are weak.

Aaron Donald could make an average pass rusher produce. When you have game changers on your defense you don't need every single piece to be good. They now have two game changers.

Yea, their edge rushers and LBs were so weak they were 3rd in giving up points in the entire NFL. 3rd with 17 ppg.

The only defenses better at stopping teams from scoring (the most important and revealing stat) was MN (15.8 ppg) and Jags (16.8 ppg).

The Steelers were 7th, even after playing the Browns twice, and all the teams with 2nd or 3rd string QBs (GB, Indy, TX, Bears).

If they were so great why did they trade Quinn and Ogletree? Name one good edge rusher they have?

Don't kid yourself. We all would be salivating ourselves LBs or not if the Steelers had the Rams defense at this point of Ben's career.

Well, I think we should talk after free agency and draft. They have a plan, teams ain't set in March. Well, at least some teams.

I wanted Donald in that draft. I got so much flak about his size and how it didn't fit here. I think he would have fit quite well in this hybrid defense with two down linemen that we run 65% of the time. Would be nice to get a guy like this to add to our already good DLine.

This is actually the opening line of my CV.

I’m still hoping Burns/Haden come good next year, with the addition of a top calibration Safety.

Haden was good.. I don't get why people keep mentioning him with burns. You never heard his name or saw him do anything because he locked down his side of the field.

Ah, right - I meant those two as our starting CB tandem coming good, rather than criticising Haden. Ie Burns/Haden rather than Free Agent CB/Haden.

Would you also want to pay him that big contract he wants? He just won DPOY, probably seeking 70-80 million dollar contract.

Burns is not good imo. He is a solid player id prefer in the slot and not on an island outside. That's not his game

Not when he was a rookie did he make that kind of money. I'd like all of our players to reach goals like that. That's why we get players that can play. If we worry they will get good some day why bother. We had a DPOY before. It didn't break us. We pay a couple of DEs right now a lot of cash and we picked up a guy that has the same stats as tuitts best year ever for a fraction of the money. Without tuitt and Hargreaves and alualu we could pay a guy like Donald. You adjust that's how it works when you have top players. Not all decisions are easy. We get sacks and then can't stop the run, we stop the run and we can't get sacks. Something has to change. Players have to change. The system has to change. Status quo won't cut it if we expect change. How much did AB want? How much does Bell want? You have to pay if you want the top players.

Bwahahahahahahahaha...You crack me up bro. They would be two completely different teams so I'm not picking up what you're putting down. You can't honestly believe the Steelers wouldn't be a better team with the Rams defense. I can't wait to read your straw man argument.

I remember you did Mac, I think I was willing to go along with you because of Aaron being a Pitt Panther.
