With the addition of Bostic and Burnett. Both are smart players who run defenses and can tackle.

Add Tom Bradley to the mix, and the missed tackles as a whole should go down.

Steelers cut dead weight, added a good coach and good players, retained Bell and still have the draft.

    Looking good :yeehaw:

I did not believe it was possible to peruse a Steelers Thread pretaining good news about the defense.

Burnett is an upgrade over Mitchell. Bostic + Williams is better than Spence + Williams. Whether or not this will help the run defense remains to be seen. Hopefully the 1st round rookie ILB will be a badass.

    See? I can be optimistic.

I am very happy with these signings, good character guys and I think Bostic is underrated. Burnett likely will miss games but even if he can help be a mentor for our draft picks at the position its a win, could you imagine if they were left with Mitchell as the mentor. Yikes

I wouldn't be shocked if our first 2 picks were LB's now. We could also use a NT to compete with Hargrave. I'd love to see us take a DT and ILB with our first 2 picks. Hargrave IMO is nothing more than a situational DT. We need to get better up front and Hargrave was a big part of the problem. He flat out stunk against the run.

They still need to get a safety within the first 3 rounds, they have no depth.

It's an upgrade over what we had, and with the limited funds of cap room that the Steelers have, these are decent moves.

But, it would really shock me not to see, a Inside Linebacker or Safety taken in the 1st and 2nd rounds.

But, you never know, Steelers don't always draft out of need, they generally take who they think might be the best player available.

That is due in part to the misconception of the draft itself. Artie Burns is a prime example.

Round one is predicated on need. Rounds two and three are BPA. Rounds four through seven are depth building.

Would love to see Settle, Reninds me of a young Casey Hampton...Would round 2 be to high for him?
That's where most mocks have him going

Both seem like Tom Bradley guys. A change that was needed. Both in players and a coach.

After the sting of that monster money that will be given to the rap giant I to am feeling optimistic on this snowy day in March. Can't wait for the Draft, as a matter of fact now I want one :drinks:

It wont matter. New England will still beat us! (I don't really feel that way, but I was afraid Heinz words were going to send people to the ER)
