Exactly, besides it would suck to have wasted a 4th and6th round picks on him.

Because they obviously they think he has potential and when they cut Hampton, they will need depth.

If there was someone better or with more potential than Taamu then he would have been cut the night this drunk escapade happened.

Well i hoped he has learned his lesson he is part of the family so hopefully he will make some adjustments in his personal life and be able to make an impact on this team this year or next

The man made a mistake, and compounded it by making more bad decisions. He wasn't an accessory to murder, so I think it is fair for him to be a part of this team. He brings a lot of potential.

What he did was more than a mistake.

However you want to spin it, in the end it was still a mistake, committed while under the influence no less. It's not like he was sober and made those decisions. From what I understand he has a drinking problem, as someone who has had very close people to me suffer from that, he needs help, not to be ostracised. Get the kid some help, he basically had a DWI and tried to evade police.

If we have the opportunity to draft a sweet NT in the next draft that is heads above Taamu, then Taamu is gone...

Spin it? Seriously? 15 charges including felonies is not even close to my idea of a mistake.

Oh come on. If he played for the Ravens or Patriots, he would be getting absolutely roasted on this board.

I didn't say he was guilty or not guilty, I simply said he made a mistake. For most of us, we wouldn't want to repeat our mistakes. Ask Ray Lewis if he could change what happened the night of the Superbowl in Jan 2000, I'll bet he would say that he would hope things would have turned out differently. Ask Ta'amu if he could change what happened that night, same response. My point was this, once he is squared away with the justice system, whatever that may be, then I will have no problem rooting for him. He can help this team win, for a long time to come.

Personaly if he did everything he's charged with I don't know that I would want him on the team. That being said I think I'll wait till our justice system has it's say before I run him out of town. The way the courts handle the situation, be it serious jail time or probation will speak to just how bad what he allegedly did was.

Way to fixate on the "spin it" comment and ignore the heart of my original post. You watch and see, kid is barely going to get anything, 90 day sentence at most, wouldn't be surprised if he just gets a bunch of community service and a rehab stint. But yeah, keep acting like he shot up a movie theater

You know he was arrested for DUI in '09, right? He already repeated his "mistake" and then multiplied it by 1000 by running from the cops. Sorry... "Allegedly" running from the cops.

Didn't you know Rush, only choir boys are allowed to play for this team.

Scott, What's wrong with waiting for the justice system to have a say then coming to a conclusion.

No matter what anyone says everyone is going to hold their own opinion on this regardless of anything anyone says. I will just say I am fine with him still being on the team. The End. NEXT!
