I hope we make the cornhole champ cry next week

 

I remember the days of furious Palmer vs Roethlisberger debates with Bengal fans.

As usual we were right and they were wrong.

Those were the days...

 

I heard a Cincy radio show host a few years ago saying that it was a shoulder injury that ruined his fastball more so than the knee injury.

 

This is also what I think. The only thing I hope we get better at is finishing drives with TDs. If we can do that and our D can play just good enough we can be really good.

 

This is a treat to watch. I miss Mendy, and I REALLY would've liked to have seen Decastro in there, but with more time in the offense we could be looking at somethign special here once Harrison/Polamalu return to solidify our defense.

 

If only we had a corner...if only... I wonder if we could get Mel Blount to come back and play for the veteran minimum?

 

So far my thoughts on the offense.

They look lost and sloppy however as the game went on they seemed to pick it up a bit. Our oline is very weak and it hurts our running game tremendously but what else is new. The one clear cut thing I can see on the field is that the offense has a game plan. Control the clock and sustain drives instead of swing for the fences. That wasn't noticeable when we had the "other guy" at coordinator. One interesting stat in mentioned in the game is that the steelers had a 10:30 something drive which has been the longest drive the steelers have had in 5 years (Which is when Bruce became OC).

 

I agree...I hope/think the OL will come together. And I think as the season goes on the better the O will look...some say it can take 1-2 years for a new OC's system to really gel/etc. But I like some of what I'm seeing...

 

I wish Rainey could catch the dang ball so we could see what he can really do.

 

Its funny Mike Brown actually made a good deal for the Bengals,
with trading of Carson Palmer. And the Raiders well, lets say they got raped
by this. They have loads of work to do in OAKTOWN,I wouldn't be to
suprised to see Pryor this week, what do they have to lose?

 

Yeah that deal was made by Al Davis before he died. I really think he was senile at the end there.

 

The best thing for an Oline is to gel by playing together. Even a unit of misfits can do okay. That's 1/2 of whats wrong with the Steelers Oline. It seems an eternity since they could roll the same 5 guys for more than 3 weeks straight.

 

I too, love the ball control and huge time of possession. As the O line continues to gel, hopefully, we can offer up a solid running game to support the air attack.

 

Well i could care less about top because i want tothrow te ball every down but having said that the drive in the 4th quarter was very sweet

 

The last scoring drive told me a lot. In recent years that would have been a 3 no gain run series, but this team is playing to score and win. Stuck with the game plan and mixed running and passing plays as they had done all game.
Room for improvement, but we have seen for two weeks in a row the difference in the game plan and play calling.

 

Wait you two. Haven't you heard? We didn't have a 100 yard rushing game....again!! Why aren't you complaining?
