Absolutely correct about the pressure stat. What do I care about your pressure, if the ball is moving downfield? Even the 2 sacks in the Ravens game came against double teams. He worked through the chip on both and the second one he went through 3 to get there.

They praise Garrett, but he's more of a pass rushing DE most of the time. Crosby is all over the place though. That guy has a motor!

I’ll give you just one guess and the only hint is it’s a topic that can’t be discussed in here.

This narrative is picking up steam and motivating the expanding context despite that TJ leads or is tied in about 5 or 6 of the previous measurable categories before “advanced analytics” became a thing.

Im hearing the same *reasoning* too from people at work -they are all using the pressure rate and double team rate.

Plus, the betting sites are seem to be using the same matrix.

Anyone know of or where to find a list of the records and catagories that TJ currently holds for his career thus far?

He's a Steeler? Because they have Max Crosby ranked ahead of him too! If it's the pressure rate, then why isn't Highsmith ranked higher because he's got a ton of pressures.

Hell, I think Crosby was better than Garrett, too.

    That’s good for this season.

But I know there are others.

    Like:
    - All time sack leader (tied Strahan)
-Only player to lead the league in sacks 3X’s
    - 2nd fastest to player to 90 sacks (Reggie White)
    - TJ Watt and Lawrence Taylor are the only players to record 70+ sacks and 7 interceptions within their first seven seasons.

    Anything else?

Pretty funny TJ has 19 while Myles Garret has 14. There are 5 players that separate the two.

Interestingly TJ also has more defensive stops for losses than Myles Garrett. They are tied for QB pressures.

Not sure why the hate for TJ but keep it coming I like him playing angry

DPOY was invisible in their playoff game.

Someone said PFFs analyst was trolling. I was in that thread and found some gems.

There's people in there arguing that he's a liability in coverage as a reason he shouldn't be DPOY! I mean the man that has 7 PDs and an INT versus nothing for the other guys that don't drop (that he still out metrics in all the measured stats), is a liability in coverage!

You can't make this crap up!

What's funny is remember when Strahan was doing it, that there were some questionable "gift" sacks in there!

PFF is a joke on most of their assessments and seem biased against the Steelers. Ray Charles could have seen that TJ Watt was the most dominate defensive player in the NFL.

PFF has some questionable analytics. However, for those who see an anti Steeler bias, in 2022 they rated Trubisky at a rating of 76, which in their ratings system is a solid starter rating. It was very close to their rating of Herbert. Now, I don’t think Mitch was nearly as bad during most of LAST YEAR as some fans make him out to be, but he sure as hell wasn’t a solid starter, or anything close to that.

Maybe not anti-steelers but the Trubisky vs Herbert is just a another example why you can't trust the PFF grade....And no way Stroud was only the 13th best QB in the NFL this season but it was his grade too....
