Switzer is doing exactly what is asked and expected from him as a receiver.
He's not a guy who's going to create on his own in the return game, he needs some blocking help there.

Then Switzer should be benched immediately, because Nick Farabaugh says so.o_O

Is that accurate? It doesn't seem possible.

I dont think anyone is advocating benching him but less snaps. yes I am in that camp as well.

I think the big difference is Edelman will catch a ball beyond 5 yards off the line of scrimmage.

I'd prefer more intelligent snaps for him. How about when we have a ton of yards to go we don't throw it to him but instead maybe throw it to him on 3rd and 1 instead of going for a bomb then? Idk, maybe I am crazy.

It’s a ridiculous comparison for anyone to even consider. Would the Steelers trade Switzer for Edelman? Thought so....

Think it was 3.8 to 4.9 something like that.

I think Roonatic is probably right in that Elderman is hit in stride.

If Ben wants that same dynamic, they need to work on their timing.

He’s a decent player but if we’re gonna use him like he’s our No. 2 WR ,we’re in serious trouble. Moncrief had a bad game if that were to continue we better start utilizing JW and getting DJ up to speed. Switzer shouldn’t be logging more snaps than JW or any potential No. 2 for that matter.

He is not hit in stride as often as is being portrayed. Thing is very often when he does make the catch he immediately turns upfield and gets what he can get.. Switzer often tries to outrun, cut, make a move to extend the play or Make A Splash play....

I don't think any of us is saying he should be benched, just less snaps. It won't be long before Johnson take his snaps.

He’s their slot receiver, he’s going to be on the field for a lot of snaps.

You’re basically upset became Ben wants to improve the production there and used the standard as a goal o_O

I'm upset about the package usage not the amount of snaps Switzer got. If the Pats secondary had been porous and Switzer was getting free on slants and rub routes I would be happy to have that all day. However they should have been forcing NE out of that dollar look and that means jumbo packages with the best blocking WR on the field and running the ball down their throats. I don't think Switzer cares if he gets 1 target or 20 as long as he is helping to get the win

That’s fine and dandy but the comparisons to Edelman are far fetched. They are in a different class of WRs. It’s nice to have goals but let’s be realistic. Switzer isn’t and never will be Edelman ,that’s reality.

Couldn’t care less but if he gives them 800 yards receiving I’ll find that cool.

Sorry, I did not know of your man crush on Edelman :lolol:

I agree, Switzer was way overrated. He won with Jimmy Johnson's players :hijacked:

Let's be honest.. the only reason Switzer is being compared to Edelman is because they are both white possession receivers. Switzer isn't in the same league as Edelman. For the first time in a long time, our receiving corps is a weakness of this team. I like the potential of Washington, but it hasn't translated yet.

Is it a little early to say definitively that it’s a weakness?

I’m not saying you are wrong necessarily, but do remember that Pats D is probably the best in the league, certainly top 2-3. They held the Rams to 3 points in the SuperBowl as well.

I’m reserving judgement for a few weeks to see what happens when Ben has had more game time and they have a chance to figure a few things out on both sides of the ball. It may not be as bad as we think.
