Yeah the 49ers won the toss to start OT, they should have kicked off. Shanahan is now 0-3 in Superbowls, blowing double digit leads in all 3. Twice to the Chiefs as HC and he was the OC for the Falcons who orchestrated that disastrous 28-3 game against Brady.

Here's QB Coach with some really good commentary about seeing guys open and QBs missing them. One of the things that was killing Kenny and Got a little better with Mitch, but was way better for Mason than either of the others, was the snap placements on shotgun.

I never equated them as the same position. Hargrave was always the Nose/tackle in my eyes. Tuitt was an end. We finally got one in Benton, but look how long it took.

Man 49ers were close, 1 or 2 plays could have totally changed the outcome.

Just as suspected in the First Quarter, 49er Defense was nowhere to be found as the game progressed.

They were causing some issues in the first half, but when the Chiefs needed a play they shifted. Those Mahomes runs just seemed like a set-up from the first half. They just forgot he could do more than just try to escape the pocket outside!

I'll never forget when I was watching a documentary on some crisis in Africa and I saw a group of men in Patriots 19-0 T-Shirts. The year the NYG stopped that dream.

The chiefs defense keep their team in the game for almost 3 quarter when their offense did nothing but their offense have finish the job in the fourth quarter and overtime....complete team effort!

IMO the Chiefs defense is the reason they won this years Playoffs. Mahomes with a good defense is not a fair fight.

Yeah, their defense were great for the entire season, regular season and playoffs....They had some struggle in the first 3 quarter vs Bills but they step up big time in the fourth quarter in that game

Will the KC Chiefs be the first to win 3 straight SB's???

No doubt in my mind it would have been the Steelers in 1976 if we didn't have those key injuries.

They have a chance especially if they add 1-2 good wide receiver in the next draft or free agency

We all here how everybody and their mother watches the big game. Yesterday there were thousands at a PGA event who didn't care and won't home to see it.

I took a walk around my neighborhood at the start of 3rd quarter. An upscale mobile home park with 350 homes. I saw a grand total of 10 houses that were awake and I could tell only 2 had the game on. Granted I'm in an over 55 park and they are 99% Philadelphia fans.

The 49ers are like the 1970s Vikings...So often in the hunt,so often very close but can't win the big one...I include the Jim Harbaugh years too

The 49er players said after the game that they didn't know the playoff OT rules. They actually thought that if they drove down the field and scored a TD that the game was over, that's why they took the ball to start OT. Can you imagine the outcry against Tomlin if he would have made such a major blunder with the Superbowl on the line.

They don't have to be the same position. You couldn't pay all 3 guys on the D line all the money. I guarantee if they had a crystal ball, and knew what was going to happen to Tuitt they would have kept Hargrave, but You couldn't pay Hargrave, Tuitt, and Cam.

Could You imagine if a player did to Tomlin what Kelce did to A. Reid....how people would spin that....how His own team has no respect for Him.

If that's the case, then it's 100% on the HC. You don't send your guy out there for the coin toss without knowing what he's doing. Could be he was in the moment and forgot about the change, it happens, but just like on this board, in that time between the coin toss, someone should have been correcting him.

The players are not the coach. Shanahan said no such thing. Shanahan was very clear why he wanted the ball first. You can disagree with him all you want, but he knew the rules.

Yes Shanahan knew the rule but he said that there was a "miscommunication" with the captains calling the coin toss. Kyle Juszczyk said that he didn't know the rule and when asked if the OT rule was discussed with the team by the coaching staff, he answered no.

Not sure how there was a miscommunication. Shanahan wanted the ball first. He got the ball first. The players may not have known the rules, but it's not like they gave less than 100% because they didn't know the rules. It literally had no effect on the game. I can see Shanahan's point of wanting the ball 3rd if they match scores. Not sure I agree but the players not knowing the rules had no effect on the game. Mahomes just did what he does when it matters most, which is why I disagree with giving him the ball second.

Better to know what you need to do, I say. Then your percentages go up by having 4 downs to work with.
