Rogers drops balls, too. He and Washington are different types of receiver, but I think they are fairly comparable. The difference at receiver is that team had two outstanding players at the position in Holmes and Ward. Brown is better than either of them, but this team really doesn't have a No. 2. Well, the do, but he got himself suspended for the entire season.

I disagree with your point regarding the tight end position. The current team may have more depth, but Miller was far better than anybody on the current roster. I watched the tape of Super Bowl XLIII and also a part of that playoff win over the Colts from the 2005 Super Bowl run. We became so used to Miller as the reliable target and great blocker that we may have forgotten how dangerous he was down the field early in his career.

James is no better than Spaeth. Both are tall guys who could catch and they learned how to block as pros. James has simply been forced into a larger role because Miller retired and Green missed so much time with injury.

Of course, the real difference is on defense. This group may be improving, but they aren't even close to 2008. It really has been a while since the Steelers had dominant playmakers at outside linebacker. Woodley and Harrison were a lot of fun to watch in their primes. Seriously, how many guys on the current defense could have cracked that starting lineup?

Our defense in 08 was top 5 all time easily. I knew we had something special when Woodley came along. I'll never forget when we beat Dallas at home on a pick 6 by Deshea Townsed. I told my friend then and there that it was our year. Beating the Ravens three times, including the AFCCG. I also remember Willie Parker was on his last leg, didn't he hurt his knee?

Coates is pro bowl caliber? What? lol The last time Coates was relevant it was summer. Coates mine as well be on the practice squad. He's done nothing to help this team in 14 weeks. Your memory is too short and who cares about back up TE's. The reason we've seen all of our back up TE's is because none of them are very good. They aren't bad at catching balls, but the rest of their game is crap. Watching anyone of them block is painful.

It's hilarious how quickly people forget how good Ward and Holmes were, especially in big games. Those guys were as clutch as they come.

After watching that Cleveland disaster, I take back any good things I said about our defense. We have the most over rated defense in the NFL. That was an embarrassment. The worst team in the league just made our defense look like they were trying to stop Walter Peyton in his prime and Joe Montana taking the snaps. That was pretty much the same defense we had the week earlier against the Ravens...who also had little problem running the ball down our throats. It's obvious to me that opponents have found our Achilles heal and we have no answer for it.

That 7 game win streak is as hallow as they come. We've pretty much played crap teams and barely beat them and should have lost a couple. I mean how we won that game yesterday is comical. 3 of the most ridiculous fumbles I've seen kept that game from being a total blow out..against the browns with our starters playing on defense we should have been blown out. Tomlin has an amazing ability produce some of the most epic stinkers I've ever seen. I am grateful though. That so called win put $50 in my pocket.
