I agree wins are certainly a very important stat for QB's. Here are the all time top QB's for wins.
    Tom Brady 251
    Peyton Manning 186
    Brett Favre 186
    Drew Brees 172
    Ben Roethlisberger 165
    John Elway 148
    Aaron Rodgers 148
    Dan Marino 147
    Philip Rivers 134
    Matt Ryan 124
    Fran Tarkenton 124
With the exception of Matt Ryan and maybe Rivers, all of these QB'S are in the HOF or are a shoo in to be there.

When was Eli Manning a top-five quarterback? I'm not sure there was even one season that was true. He got hot in the playoffs twice, but otherwise he wasn't anything special. The Giants' defense won those Super Bowls, especially the first one.

You just can't keep relying on that formula. Too many things can go wrong.

"when he was on" was the key phrase... He definitely wasn't a top 5 QB. He was a good player that had flashes of greatness, and when he was "hot" he was really, really good. He's a career .500 QB who threw for a ton of yards and TD's but turned it over a ton too. The point that I was making is that turning the ball over some isn't going to stop you from winning, or even winning the SB.

Also, if we have to rely on that formula against a team starting a rookie back up QB who can't be trusted to throw the ball down field.... then there is an issue there too, right? If we had a competent offense we would've smoked the Browns last week. Instead it took a "last play lateral" type of play for our QB to eclipse the 100 yard mark... It's not a winning formula. We will not continue to be competitive in games where our QB throws for under 200 yards. It puts too much pressure on our defense.

Smoked them is a bit much. The Browns' defense is excellent. It is a game they should have won by at least a touchdown.

Good points. I agree. KFP is not afforded the opportunity and has been held back. Who is to blame for reining him in? I suspect it is and has been Tomlin the entire time. He is giving Kenny the opportunity to develop albeit slowly. Tomlin knows he can win games with this defense. Now the new era begins. We will find out in the next couple of games if he is the real deal. The one things about the QBs you mentioned is their coaches never let their confidence diminish because of turnovers/interceptions. Kenny has been given play calls which does not allow for him to air it out often.

And each and every one of those guys had great stats too. The list of top winners is pretty close to the list of top passing yds and top passing TDs. Over the long haul you won’t have lots of wins without the yds and TD passes backing it up.
