there was a thread started several weeks ago, I do not feel like digging for it.

as with MANY THREADS or thoughts here, it was pre-mature.

like: Tomlin, Coach of the Year thoughts (mid season pipe dreams)
"how much are we paying for Russ Wilson or Justin Fields"
"TJ should be DPOY", "Minkah is just fine"

all of the week 10 non sense is just that - NON SENSE. You can BLOW most of this up and it would not matter. Not MANY players here should feel safe. NOT MANY at all. and NO COACHES should, NONE OF THEM

a SEASON is 17 games PLUS POST SEASON.

WE SUCK. ROONEY FLAT OUT BLOWS and TOMLIN will be back next year.

    Get used to it.

It was NOT a successful season.

Successful? No, and not necessarily because we lost a po game, but rather the losses to end the season AND the way we played and lost to the Ravens. When picking W/L prediction before the season there was a mixture as always, I said this team could be a 12 win team, or a 7 win team..the games can be that close. I also said I did not actually care as much about the wins, but was this team competitive, building a roster for that window opportunity is where I thought we were heading, seeing this group through this last 6 plus weeks, this team is essentially the same team we have had for the last 5 or 6 years.

    Its weird
Sure it didn’t go how any of us wanted
But it’s kind of insane to say a 10 win year wasn’t a successful season.
I imagine many teams would trade our season for theirs.

Steelers won 10 games and made the playoffs, anytime the Steelers make the playoffs, I consider it a successful season

Then just go dig up the Emperor's grave and piss on his dead body, because he made this franchise about CHAMPIONSHIPS, and nothing less. Take the NON-LOSING season BS and stick it up your backside, because it means NOTHING in the City of Pittsburgh! It's only used as a crutch to prop up an AVERAGE coach like Mike Dumblin, and it's used as a way of COPING for all the Dumblin ball washers & groupie followers.

In the end, we're NOT all winners. Dumblin has not only HIJACKED this beloved organization, he's turned us into every other team in the NFL...and he's destroyed our empire, one bad decision at a time. The thing is, some coaches use the Rooney Rule as a springboard to a better career, but Dumblin used it as a means to establish POWER & CONTROL, nothing more. He's made this job about HIM, and not the team and certainly not about the organization.

I just think it's crazy how numb some of you are about losing, which is exactly what Dumblin thrives on. If lowering our organizations' ceiling is OK for some of you, so be it...but just don't expect it from me or hundreds of thousand other Steelers fans. This wasn't some "successful" season, this was a team DERAILED by an average coach...and by one who couldn't motivate his team when it mattered the most!

Another good season if getting embarassed by your biggest rival in the playoffs is considered a success.

I would say a disappointing season.

I don’t understand the burn it down approach some are suggesting. If we get rid of our best players, what does the next few seasons look like? Even with more draft capital, we won’t hit on 100 percent of the picks (no team does).

We need to go into the offseason and make changes to coaching and look to fill holes (CB, DLine, WR, etc).

The Steelers over achieved again this season. They were predicted to be an 8.5 win team and no playoffs.

Last year they were predicted to be a 7.5 win team with no playoffs.

The season isn’t successful when the team played their worst when they should be playing their best. I get there were some injuries but execution sucked all around.

As Tomlin likes to say, "to be quite honest" I would have to say no.

So if we had the same season every year for 30 more years and never won a playoff game and set records for the length of time without a playoff win. You would still say it was a successful 30 years?

To me, this is one of the biggest indictments against Tomlin. He has had several seasons with extended losing streaks or situations where we are backing into the playoffs.

I am glad we got to 10 wins (it is better than the alternative). I think the struggle is, we never really found our stride with the offense, the defense withered down the stretch, and we ended the season on a slide (capped off by a playoff spanking). A tough way to go out!

Everyone played last night. The Ravens were missing their number 1 WR. The Lions have 12 defenders on IR yet they are the best team in the league

WTF? The ONLY reason you can claim the Steelers "overachieved" is because of an AVERAGE coach who has lowered the ceiling of our organization and because of Dumblin ball washers like you who are OK with him doing it!

Question needs asked, then. At what point does Dumblin need to start being held ACCOUNTABLE for his job and start winning playoff games, seriously?

    5 more years...10 more years....15 more years...20+ more years???

Damn, I've never, ever in my life saw a football coach brainwash so many people into thinking he's some "good" coach...Dumblin has some of you f***ers in coo-coo crazy land, I'm serious!
