    Ok, I`m curious about this...
Is it still valuable to stop the run, and force them to throw, when our secondary is a weakness...?
Do they abandon the run, and attack with the pass, because they believe it`s their best chance to beat us, or do we "force" them to do it?

    Just wondering, after reading this...

I get the history of "forcing" teams to be one-dimensional against us,

And it used to work great, but...
We used to have a better secondary, that was allowed to deliver more punishing blows...

    Is it still effective?

My gut says, "Hell Yes!!" you gotta stop the run!

But my head wonders if you really wanna force the team to play to your "weakness"..

    What say yinz?

We saw what happens when a team doesn't stop the run Week 1

The Steelers held the Bengals to less than 50 yards rushing yesterday and made their best receiver AJ Green non existent. You do those two things and you win many games.

Put it this way, if they can't run then we can drop more in coverage AND they have more chances of throwing a pick or a drop. Stopping the run is always key

The Eagles runshing are averaging less than 4.0 yards per carry (3.5 per carry on 66 total rush attempts).

Stopping the run should not be an issue against the Eagles. I am more concerned where Fletcher Cox is going considering his ability to wreak havoc.

Stop the run and the deepball and that doesn't leave much.
