We saw what happened to Packers last night when you don’t even attempt a run once out of eight times at the Goal line

Steelers seem to always be in an empty set backfield.

No one is fooled, Charlie Weiss from SiriusXM NFL radio says this morning.
If you’re not even going to give the allusion if running the ball, teams are gonna be coming for the QB.

Eagles recommitted to the Run last night and it worked.

Now I know we lost Nix and a TE, but you still gotta put a RB in the backfield and force the Run.

    Gotta Run the ball.
    It’s a “must”

I generally don’t like empty sets on anything other than 3rd and long.

I am utterly dumbfounded when a team settles into one type of offense. Like the Packers pass happy last night and the Steelers last week where the average pass attempt was 2 yards. I don't think it takes rocket science to know that it "all" works better if you mix it up a bit.

It's true, we don't have our ideal components for running the ball, but we can put an extra lineman (Banner) out there and still attempt to pound the ball. I'm not sure we used the 'jumbo' package once, last week, after losing Vance and Grimble.

Steelers last year finished dead last in number of Play-Action passes.

Hoping Mason can improve on those numbers.

Play-Action can slow a defense down; and right now we have to do something to slow things downs for our OL.

I'm certain the lack of play action was due to Ben. Hopefully they change things up now that Ben is done for the year, although I'm not optimistic about this coaching staff getting anything right

This should have been the week where the coaching staff
goes back to fundamentals. Especially in the run game with the OLinemen
and defensive front seven. Stopping the run. Like above posters
we have to get away from these MT sets.
