    But thanx for creating a great "fallback" board, if the "main" one goes down for good!

    Thank you for starting these message boards! You rock! It is way better than the other one and I do not plan on ever going back! I joined there last July and am tired of still getting the message "Please read "New User Activation Information". The moderator will review this account prior to activation. Thank you for joining the Message Board." every time I want to reply to a post. It is so nice to be able to not be a lurker.

    I really like this. Oddly I could read but not submit on the old piece of crap the Steelers organization call a message board. I reviewed the source code and the submit button was coded but using any of the available browsers I could not click on submit.

    This has the feel of old which I like. The Steelers dont need a fancy message board just something that is functional. Much like our beloved Steelers we look forward to fielding a competitive team week in and week out not looking to out do the other teams with respect to how pretty our forum is.

    Thanks for creating a working alternative

    Hi guys. Some of you know me from the Official Board (same user name).

    One question, or maybe I missed it. Do you have a set of rules for this board in place? What's the guideline on acceptable language, etc?

    Not that I want to spew profanity everywhere. But every now and then, many of us are prone to use "verbal punctuation" when excited.

    Without a doubt. I don't want to see the wild west in here any more than most people would.

    I'm only suggesting that some sort of policy would be good. Once the trolls, trash talkers, etc., find this place, it's going to get dicey. That said, a little spice up, within reason, isn't so bad.

    If the core of this board came from the Official forums, then most of us are adults and can act like it. Hell, some of us have kids who are now considered adults. :shock:

    I'm not volunteering to be a hall monitor by any means, but I would suggest to TTF that he gets some moderators in place to get things under control should they get out of hand. That, and a TOS would go a long way.

    I like when people are free to express themselves. And I'm certainly no prude. But it's a fine line. I don't like chaos. And it could drive good members away.

    Good to see you here, man. :drinks:

    To answer your questions, there are a couple default word censors in place that can be customized, added and subtracted from etc. As far as it goes, I think what you'd expect to hear on TV during the game and commercials Sunday should be about what anyone would expect here. When I made this board live I didn't really think rules were a huge priority, as I really only figured a handful of people would participate. But you're right, as the board grows, rules will need to be in place just so everyone knows what's acceptable. I'm not much of a 'rules guy' and would like to think that everyone knows how to act, but a few basic Do's and Don'ts are a good idea...I'll draft some up soon. This board is extremely easy to moderate, and I don't foresee an immediate need for other moderators, but I agree that if it gets really active here some moderation help will be need. :smile: There's also a 'report this post' button on each post that alerts admins/mods if something needs to be looked at.

    I tried to post on the other garbage steelers board, wanted to say how nice this looks, but I couldn't cus that board wouldn't let me post lol. Be nice to post without having to resign in a million times. :good: great job brother!!

    Even when the "other" Steelers Message Board site was up and working for some, I still think this one is much better designed and user friendly. I am really impressed! Keep up the good work!
