But at least TJ will be taking up 15% of the cap all by Himself. Always the best thing 2 do is give that much cap 2 a player you can scheme away from

It’s beyond ridiculous. No way a Linebacker is worth 30 million.

I agree, and I Love, Love Me some TJ Watt, but it's a dumb business wise move 2 give about 15% of Your cap 2 a LB that can be schemed out of the game.

Sometimes I think these decisions are made on a players popularity and what revenue that is generated from it.

TJ's worth every penny. You don't let your allpros walk out the door until they start throwing furniture. He was getting that amount somewhere & the Steelers might as well get up to speed with the guaranteed $$$.

I'm going to speculate that this injury somehow happened about the time he found out his brother was killed. Probably really lost it and injured himself.

We can hope it's not super serious, but I think if he's fresher for the stretch run, this team might be better for it, as long as they can get there at a decent record.

I know there might be a few broken things in some peoples houses if they learned of it the same way.

TJ AND Tuitt no padded practices the whole preseason, and one of the top Offenses in Buffalo to open up with...This could end up bad

LT did not disappear in his play-off games , and I bet he wouldn't get 15% of the cap. It's not the money....I could care less about that...it's the cap space he's going 2 command. That I care about

Football money and the time spent building their careers is probably feeling meaningless to him right now his brother was 23 years young . The amount of time the players miss from birthday holidays everyday is a lot more then regular folk . A game that they devote there lives to comes into question when someone passes especially like that. Pray he can find his peace

What about limiting a player on what he can receive? I think the real crime is capping the pay of this new guy but not that other guy. Steelers aren't even playing this low-cost rookie deal bs build that the league created yet.

I really don't know the answer, but something should be done.
You can't keep a competitive team together by giving a player that doesn't touch the ball about 15% of Your cap. How can that make sense. That's why I never laughed when the raiders wouldn't do it. I know a lot of TV people did, but they are not running a team.
I think the highest We ever gave 2 a player that was on D was 9% of the cap , and That Was Troy P.

The total to the players is capped. I think that’s enough ‘salary control’. Too much going to one player? Well, that’s the teams choice. Smart teams will manage the payroll wiser, poor teams won’t. Their choice.

Well the Raiders don't have a pass rush anymore either.
Here's the funny part, how much did they give Carr? Yeah, I'm laughing.

Contracts are like congress. Nothing gets done on the weekends, or when stuff is really important, or on time, or the way we want it.
