Just a revisit. The Steelers offense is young and talented. The OL has been improving and if they can get a solid LT by draft, trade or FA, I think this group can be good. I'm looking forward to seeing Austin as a WR. I'd like to see Connor (230 lbs) occasionally come in as FB leading Najee and Warren. If Steelers go looking for an OC, I hope they get one who can utilized all the offensive talent.

This Twitter was from start of season, and Warren and Snell aren't listed here but age-wise they can be.

I said it was mentioned last year even with Ben on the team that the Steelers offense was the youngest in the league.

One more reason why the sky isn’t falling in Pittsburgh. The Steelers won’t be drafting an ot in the early rounds.

Ps they won’t be drafting a cb in the early rounds either

Then who are they drafting because those are two clear needs? DLine would be the other obvious one.

Those are certainly both needs as well. I guess it depends on if they sign Sutton at CB.

Resign Sutton and we’ve already got Jackson. Cornerback has one of the highest bust rates. My bet is if they address cb it will be via free agency. The masses are screaming for lt and lg, but forget we are most likely losing alualu, Wormley, and ogunjobi. Moore and Dotson haven’t been great, but they have been improving week to week. Considering that and the pending losses along the d-line my money is on the latter

I Remember a few yrs ago, when a big deal was made about how the Steelers had the youngest team leading trio in the league at QB, RB and WR. Those budding superstars were Mason, JuJu and Conner.

There’s only one thing you can say for sure about young players: They will get older.

Boy I would be very leery of Jackson, plus I am not sure I like his contract. If Ogunjobi could ever get healthy I see him staying
at a reasonable rate. I do think a cb is in play as should be a LT, ILB and NT and Edge depth,

I'm not entirely sure Jackson will be on the roster by the end of spring. He'll have to take a massive pay cut for him to stay longer. I think Ogunjobi has a better shot at being re-signed by the team than Jackson ever donning the Black and Gold.

Given their rate of failure we are probably better off signing a free agent corner.

Maybe, but do you just quit trying? Do you not have any faith in our talent evaluators? The Cb class in this years draft
may be better than what FA could bring? I have no idea which way Steelers are thinking but I know
we need upgrade at the CB position, just for our division alone, Jamaar Chase, Tee Higgins not to mention
    other AFC opponents.

It’s the a bird in hand is better than two in a bush. Take a proven commodity in a free agent or hope a draft pick pans out? You’re also forgetting we have a new gm. We don’t know what the new regime will do.

I’m referring to all cornerbacks not just those drafted by the Steelers. There are a bunch of articles out there breaking down draft pick success rates by position. The good ones pull 25 years or so worth of data so it’s a decent sample size. Cornerback is up there at the top of the list for missing. It’s basically a coin flip on getting revis or burns. If I remember correctly once you’re down to the 4th round you’ve got like a 10% chance of hitting on a cb. Interior offensive line is one of the safest picks. ILB is another one that’s tough to get right.

Interesting stuff. I think a lot of the misses are from poor coaching. Give me Mike Munchak and five 5th rounders on the Oline. Give me Dion Sanders and 5 5th round DBs. You can have the Falcons coaching staff and 10 first rounders. I believe my guys will be better.

CB is such a tough position in the NFL with all the rules favoring offense. I’m surprised by ILB although Devin Bush certainly fits that example.

I agree with what You are saying. I've always thought the Qb, and CB are the hardest positions to draft/grade...., but....it doesn't mean they should stop trying.

I think we would be better served signing a proven free agent cb than gambling on a draft pick
