New project for Carnell Lake? I like the speed but I read that he was beat on a couple deep passes and missed a tackle on a running play which resulted in a TD. That is what is being reported as why he was waived by the Raiders.

i've been a miami fan for a long time. he could be a nickle or dime back. only 176 lbs. he's just a lean man. his feet are a blur when he runs. it is impressive. how fast he can get to speed is also remarkable. he never made a ton of plays but when he did they were at critical times it seemed like. i like miami D players. that's why i loved the spence pick. they have always been a fast defense down there and speed kills. we have added alot of speed on D this year. we will be fine on that side of the ball i believe.

He's 6' and he'll bulk up, but I wonder if they're thinking about safety for him or just as a nickle back?

 

I think the kid could become a good player...I liked his combine work and wanted the Steelers to draft him.....

 

It's low risk move, I like the move. I think this guy has more upside that any of our drafted corners that didn't make the team. I'm guessing he is taking the spot that will be open when DeCastro gets moved to the 8 week IR. That sould make all the Trai Essex fans unhappy.

 

cortez and brown were both beaten several times too this preseason.

 

Use him as a gunner and put him opposite of Chris Raney to block punts. Also, with his speed, he could be decoy for punt and kickoff returns. Remember the reverse Antonio Brown ran his first time touching the ball. Just saying.....

 

Watched his highlights and was very impressed .. He is fast. Small but indeed fast. Good tackling and ability to stay with the ball. What I dont like is how he never really did anything with Oakland in the year he was with them.

Perhaps Dick and Carnell can coach him up and make something of him. Hoping so

Almost 6'1" and runs a 4.28.......I put him at gunner and teach him the 9 route asap.

DVD and Wallace on the outsides with Rainey and Brown in the slots.

They would have to cover him....even if he can only catch 50% of the balls thrown his way....One pump fake underneath should clear up either side of the field deep.

Difference between 4.28 and 4.4 is being open and covered at the NFL.....Its why they still want to sign Mike Wallace long term....A lot of 4.4 guys out there...not to many 4.28
