Steelers will be favored once this year

The mighty Steelers will be favored only once this year that’s in 2 weeks home against the Jets. And even that’s a stretch. This organization is in a downward spiral with no end hope or end in sight. Going 500 every year is only average in my book. Given the possibility that a playoff run is light years away downright maddening considering what this franchise once was. Well anything can happen in the NFL I guess?

Actually the OP could be right. Only reason we might be favored against the Jets is we are at home. I think it will be an even spot.

The outlook this season is not good to be fair and I am not optimistic for the rest of this season

The medium term outlook is not nearly as bad. There are a lot of good young players in the offence and a top 10-12 pick will give them an opportunity to improve either the OLine or Dline, or get a good Corner. They also have a lot of cap flexibility in the future vs team paying megabucks for good but not great QB’s

If Pickett is good they could be a very strong team again very quickly IMO

 

Still too early to write off the season. I remember we went 0-3 some time ago and we turned things around somewhat after that. Pickett isn't the answer either. It would be like throwing caviar into a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Things look a little worse than they did game one in that now we have a D problem on top of an O problem. I'll give it 6 games, not to see where we are record wise, but how we look to the eyes to gauge what direction we're (still) going. Not sure what personnel changes we'll see next year as they will use Ben leaving as an excuse to keep things as they are. JMO>

 

Those two popped in my mind. In all depends how things develop during the season. So far the Steelers have not been favored in first three games.

Went 0-4 and almost made playoffs but we had franchise QB Tomlin needs to get back to what he does and that’s managing people. Go get 2 stud coordinators and let them do their job.

We’ve went .500 three times in 15 years under Tomlin. So that’s not “every year”.
