Love it nice game, way to come out and take care of business. Grab the much needed 1st round bye and I don't care about next week. I don't care if we are the only team the clowns beat, we need to rest the guys that need it and worry about the bigger picture and that's #7!!!!!!!

Excellent game, no high blood pressure, screaming (except my Grandkids) numb @ss sitting on the edge of my seat, stomping (except my Grandkids) a nice relaxing game. Sitting at the #2 seed. Time to rest the top notch players. Heard that Dobbs will get the start. Hope everyone had a great day yesterday like I did. Go Steelers!

@Rush2seven@Rush2seven what do you disagree about????? Are you telling me beating the Clowns is more important than keeping our guys healthy for the SB run?????????????????

You play to win the game.
I disagree with the “I don’t care if we are the only team the clowns beat”

    We should win 41-0

So you are fine with BB playing and getting rolled up on and out for the season or Bell getting hurt running in a meaningless game????? Ok that is fine, I am not I could care less if we win or lose next week, the Clowns don't mean crap compared to our goal of winning #7 and we can't do that with losing anymore starters.

I mean we have never seen that before right, one of our starters getting hurt in a meaningless game at the end of the year and affecting out SB chances.......

We still have a shot at the 1 seed and that is very important .....I know you might think the Jets have no chance but neither should Cleveland. What if NE slips up and so do we because we didn't at least give them hell for a few quarters?

They should deactivate Bell, Ben, Heyward, and DeCastro and minimize to the extent possible the involvement of other key players.

I don't care if they lose to Cleveland or not. They probably won't, no matter what happens. And the odds of the Pats losing to the Jets are a lot less than the odds of a key Steeler suffering a significant injury.

I don't want to be relying on Landry Jones or Stevan Ridley in the conference championship because they went balls out to beat the Browns.

Agreed, but we are locked in at 2 with a bye week playing to get the 1 seed and risking an injury to one of our main guys that is already hurting is scary for the big picture. I am talking about players who need the time that are banged up, play guys a little while then yank them. I am not talking about starting every 3rd stringer but I am not worrying about this game either, health is my main concern. The past has taught me and should have taught every other fan a major lesson. We are already hoping AB comes back, I don't want to worry about Bell and or Ben too. We had our shot at the #1 seed and blew it, when we had the lead and the ball with 3 min vs the Cheats we should have worried about the #1 seed, or better yet when we let Gronk get 69 yards in 3 plays to take the lead we shoulf have worried about it. That is over and now we are locked into the 2 seed and I am more worried about being at FULL strength vs the Jag offs and then the Cheats on out way to the SB!!!!

I understand your fears.....but we don't live in ours:smiley1:...I'm not sure who your talking about that's banged up? To me there is a big difference having the possibility of getting them at home again rather than having to go up there....our O always struggles on the road. To me it's a risk worth taking. You go into it trying to win the game and you can bet that NE is gonna do the same. The advantage is all the games are being played at the same time so we can scoreboard watch and adjust our personnel accordingly. There is no reason why we can't take Cleveland behind the woodshed early and make them quit like we did the Texans..
Teams/players are looking for a reason to quit this time of year.....that should be our mission ,then yank the starters. Hindsight is always 20/20 and a injury would be terrible but there is still something to actually play for its not a meaningless game......home field throughout gives us the best chance.

I am sure this was brought up earlier in the thread but did anyone see Vince Williams lay down next to D. Hopkins after that dropped ball? Hahaha

Don't the Pats have the same dilemma as Steelers next week? Who to start, who to sit. As others have hinted, both teams may play starters until half time or so and see what the other score is before sending in all the scrubs. Who would perform better against all scrubs from initial KO - Jets or Browns? I'd say Jets so Pats may have to go longer with starters if that's their angle.

And didn't they throw a flag for "taunting" on him? Good it didn't mater at that point. Yes it was quite funny. "Join in other Reindeer games!"

Fine don't have to live in our fears but I will say this, "those who do not learn history are doomed to repete it". Foster, Haden, McDonald, Pouncey, Juju and Mitchell have all been on the "injury report" the last few weeks, we saw Watt go off the field last night for a short time. As far as our best chance to beat the Pat's we blew it, we had them beat here at home....and we let them off the hook!!! Do I want the 1 seed yeah do I want to play the Cheats here yeah but not at the risk of a major player getting hurt over a meaningless game.

I know we can't play scared but how many years is this going to happen where we lose players in the last week or two of the season. Man we are already without RS and we have no idea how healthy AB will be. What if Juju or MB pulls a hammy or BB gets rolled up on or someone tackles Bell low and pop goes his knee....that's never happened before right? I would treat this like a preseason game, maybe a seris or two to the starters and bam out they come, jmo.

They aren't going to deactivate healthy starters. They aren't going to sit guys who are able to play. They still have a shot at the bye. It's an incredibly long shot, but they can't just ignore the opportunity. That means playing the starters until they have the game under control or until the Patriots pull away from the Jets.

Well I say give the starters a half to impose their will. Like I said there nothing wrong with a little scoreboard watching. It would really suck to look back and see that we blew a chance at a number 1 seed (again) because we played scared and didn't give ourselves another chance. I think you are underestimating having the go to NE. Many are looking at the fact we played them tough at home, different world on the road. If looking at the big picture and the ultimate goal which is the SB you have to give yourself the best chance and that's by playing to win Sunday and hoping they lose. You can bet they aren't even thinking about resting guys until it's locked up. They know the importance of home vs away.....
