Well, when you throw deep on 3rd and 2, it makes it kinda tough to convert third downs.

Not enough. The standard is the standard - and that's mediocrity.

Short of a lengthy, relentless, Chip Kelly level of asinine decisions, he's safe. He shouldn't be. But he is.

Blake keeps his starting job though. Mark it. No way we see Boykin.

Same thing happened in that Rams game last week.
I even said to the guys over at my house that after the Rams QB last week that I couldn't believe they didn't check out Ben.

Maybe they should rethink some of their play calls then.

You should be in the Chargers FO. Blame everything on the coach and get rid of him!! How's that worked out! McCoy is 1 game over .500 in his tenure. Yay! Get rid of the coach 'cause there's another Bill Walsh always out there waiting for a call from the Rooneys!!

My mindset was that a victory today would somewhat compensate for the bad losses against the Rats and Bungles earlier this season. If we were 8-2 going into today's game like we should have been, the loss wouldn't sting so bad. Now our playoff chances are out of our control. Lovely.

I really don't see how Ben having a concussion = our season is over?

Roll your emoticon's eyes all you want but, the rabid disappointed fans on here always want Tomlin gone after a loss but never come up with a legitimate replacement.

Actually they still control their fate, because if they win out and go 11-5 (which isn't happening, but to make the point they control their fate), they'll get in. Houston and Indy play each other, so someone has to lose (giving them 6 losses and the other wins the division) and if the Jets win out and go 11-5, the Steelers would win a tiebreaker in common games (4-1 to 3-2).

So they control their fate, but they're not winning out.

KC could still win the AFC West. Broncos lose tonight, loss to the Bengals and then would just need 1 more loss for KC to catch them. Can see KC winning out to go 11-5.

How is nobody talking about how Carroll got a challenge without throwing the red flag? Imagine if the Steelers got away with that.

I still think at 10-6 they will get in over the Bills,Jets,or Texans. The Bills need one more loss to have 7 losses and the Jets and Texans who aren't that good will lose two more games at least as well and finish with 7 losses. Win against Indy,Baltimore and Cleveland and win one of the games either at Cincy or home against Denver and we are 4-1 and will get in at 10-6.

I could see that happening, but I'm not sure the Steelers get to 10. I could see them losing to both Denver and Cincy and possible 1 more. While I agree the Jets/Texans aren't that good, they both have easier schedules. The only winning team the Jets play is NE. The Texans play the Pats and Colts, but I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Indy. Regardless the Steelers have to go 4-1, and I'm not sure they're consistent enough to do that.

According to the rulebook you MUST throw the red flag and can't yell at the refs. So it's ridiculous that the challenge play was allowed to take place.

You couldn't find a coach that could go 5 years without a playoff win?

next weeks game is big because if the Texans do continue to keep winning and beat the Colts in a few weeks and the Steelers beat the Colts next week they own the head to head tiebraker over the Colts for a wildcard spot and what
The Texans do the rest of the way might not matter if they win the division over Indy. The bottom line is this game with Indy next week is a MUST win. You cannot lose that game or you're not going to make playoffs it's really that simple.
