Don't get me wrong. I'm in it for the long haul. I watched every snap tonight and I will watch every snap of this season as well.

I don't disagree, but after the mediocre season we had last year you can't be surprised that there are those of us on this MB that are PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTED in how we've looked the first two preseason games. That doesn't mean that nothing makes us happy as you said above. We've sucked in the preseason so far and it just seems like more of the same from last year. I would have thought that we'd want to set the tone for this season in the preseason and maybe we are. Maybe the tone once again this year will be flat, unprepared, without a cohesive gameplan and just getting outcoached and outplayed. You're right, failure in the preseason doesn't necessarily translate to failure in the regular season but its all we've got to go by at this point. After last season, I'm not optimistic. But thankfully there are many other things in life that do make me happy.

OK. Let me play devil's advocate just for a second. How much of the poor o-line play is due to the linemen being tentative, not going at 100%? Given the injuries this group suffered through in 2012, I wouldn't blame them for just "going through the motions" in a meaningless preseason game. Then again: they still have a job to do to keep Ben upright.

The thing about keeping Ben upright was what I was going to say. They need to at LEAST play with the intensity of the opposing d-line ya know.
