:lolol: You should introduce signing Mayfield to the conversation after his good outing with Rams. The rule appears to be, one good game and anyone is back in the replace KP mix.

Yet, people were bagging KP when Steelers won without thrown TDs. At least it should be consistent.

    Humanity.
Once someone sees it's done....then it doesn’t seem impossible, and people strive to do it. It only takes one. It's like this in every human endeavor.

We can touch it anytime....they have to wait 10 yards. So You should always attack it.

There is an old Ben Franklin farmers almanac around here somewhere that clearly stats that man can not live at speeds in excess of 20 mph

    Yep

For those with short memories, look back at Ben last season, Canada's first as OC. This offense looked exactly the same as it does with Mitch and Kenny. Fortunately, Im old enough (or smart enough) to remember all the way back to 2021 when Ben was criticized for not being able to throw the deep ball. "he's old....his arm is shot..." etc is what we heard all season.

I also remember when Ben would come alive in the 4th quarter and start hitting deep balls seemingly out of nowhere, and leading 4th quarter comebacks. There were several post game interviews when he was asked what was the difference and he would say that he was calling the plays.
    This is known fact.

And if you check the numbers, they back it up.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/5536/ben-roethlisberger

Check Ben's splits. Quarters 1-3 are just about the same as Mitch this season and Kenny after the bye week. Similar completion percentage, YPA, and QB ratings. Ben had a slightly better TD/INT ratio at 10/9, but there's still some season left, not to mention KP is 2/0 since the bye.
    Ben's 4Q stats are significantly better. Almost 2 YPA, a rating 25pts higher, a 5% higher completion percentage, and a TD/INT ratio of 12/1.

The difference between the 3 QBs? One is a FA, new to the team looking to resurrect his career, and another is a 24 yo rookie.
Ben was an 18 year veteran HOFer who built up enough respect, power, knowledge, and CHUTZPAH to go off script and do his own thing. Neither MT or KP are going to do that
That is literally the most significant difference between the 3 QBs in Matt Canada's offense.

We we’re saying the ball appeared to not have enough to make it 10 yards, so just let it come to a rest.

No .....I hear what You are saying, but I was always taught that Since they have to wait for the ten....You always attack. Because You don't know when it will come to a rest.

I’m not saying you are wrong, just that it appeared as though they could have.

I know this post was after the touchdown drive. That drive was ugly, but overall, that was a strong performance by the defense. Remember, one field goal was a gift by Marcus Allen. One was a field goal with 23 seconds when Carolina was down 23. They absolutely dominated a pretty good running game. Of course, it helped that the offense dominated time of possession again.

This play pissed me off. It was an easy throw for a first down. Those are the plays Trubisky has stopped taking since he was benched.

It was the longest drive in the NFL this season in terms of number of plays and time of possession.

Why wouldn't he be serious? Roethlisberger's refusal to run them and insistence on being in shotgun even in short yardage was part of why this team had sucked in short yardage for years. Pickett and Trubisky are a big part of changing that.
