You said "guys were running free" and I agree. You are proving my point about Ben. Guys WERE running free at Peyton that day. Guys have been running free at Ben for most of his career but he's found a way to get it done. Until the colts won the Super Bowl Peyton's playoff record was abysmal and still is actually. Peyton tries to make excuses for why by saying things like "we had some problems in protection" or "our idiot kicker". Well did his idiot kicker throw all those picks against the Pats for all those years? No. But did Peyton come out and say anything about HIS play? No. Vanderjagt was right when he said that he did'nt see the heart from the Colts as a whole which is what he actually said. Bottom line is we have a qb that's willing to sacrifice his body to win games. Just like Elway and just like Favre. If Peyton wanted to be the man that day then he should've not put his kicker in that position to start with. You also said that the "lines consecutive heads were spinning" but there were plenty of plays where he did get throws off and just missed them because he didn't want to take a hit. That's always been my critique of him and Brady is they don't want to get hit. You see Ben throw a pick and he's heading to try and make the tackle. You watch those other guys do it and they are heading for the sidelines. That's the difference between winning and losing as far as I'm concerned.

I happened to find it while channel surfing and it was 21-3 (or something like that)in the fourth and, knowing what was coming, I could not watch it! I know we won, but that events leading up to are just too much for my heart :)

I can always rewatch a game that we win but I can NEVER rewatch a game that we lose. I still have Super Bowl 43 on my dvr and alot of times I will go back and watch the INT return and the final drive. Still gets my blood pumping.

I'm the same way. I'll watch until I know it's a turning point in a game we're about to lose or i know something bad is happening. My brother laughs at me because I know, and will swtich the channel, then go back a few minutes later. :lolol:

I really enjoyed watching this game again. Its one of my favorite Steelers games. The shoe string tackle (I've also heard it called the "immaculate redemption" or something like that) is such an amazing thing to see after the heart pounding reaction to seeing the fumble.

One more controversy: In the 3rd quarter, with the Steelers leading 14-3, Manning was undoubtedly sacked for a safety. This one is often overlooked, because the Steelers eventually took the punt and scored to run the score to 21-3. But it should have been 16-3 with a free kick coming.

    I doubt it.

He was falling backwards into the end zone of his own free will, but he was initially touched by Farrior while he (and the ball) were still out of the end zone. Ironically, if Farrior hadn't touched him so soon, and let Manning go all the way down on his own, it might have been a safety. It was very close, but a good spot right on the half yard line.

Yep, I was talking about that on the last page. Agree with HugeSnack though - on replay, and in the cold light of day, it isn't a safety. In the heat of the moment, though, I was livid...
