The Steagles were a team that the Eagles and STEELERS joined together in 43 during the war years when players were hard to come by!!

How much money did art rooney receive for switching to the afc thus catapulting the second poorest team in the league.

Trick question, none. He was given a gift certificate good for "One Cleveland, Ohio Professional Sports Organization", but he traded it in for a tuna sub.

I'm not sure about that. But I think I read somewhere one time that he purchased the franchise for $3500. Talk about a profit he's made! Hot diggity dawg.

The steelers and colts each received 1million dollars to switch to the afc. Rooney took it becuase the steelers needed the money and it really helped turn everything around. Yes the team was bought for 3500 dollars but not from track winnings that once was thought

You have to count Gary Glick as the bonus pick.

1947 against the Eagles, which was a 21-0 loss.

(I had to get out one of my Steelers history DVDs for that one, so does it still count?)

We all know about "The Steagles" in 43...But the STEELERS merged with another team after that for one season.

    What year was it?
    What team was it?
    What were they called?
