I thought this question would have been a slam dunk for any 1980's fans?

I knew Mac would get it
    Your turn Mac.

Of Earnest Jackson, a running back who gained 1,028 yards for the Eagles in 1985, Ryan said, "I'd trade him in a minute for a six-pack, and it wouldn't even have to be cold." The Eagles got no more than the $100 waiver price when Jackson was picked up by the Steelers.

It was made because Myron's boss told him to come up with a gimmick. Myron said he was an announcer not a gimmick maker. His boss said words to the effect make the gimmic or seek employment elsewhere. So Myron ask the fans to bring a yellow towel to the next game and the rest is history. Or words to that effect

I don't know, but I'm looking forward to finding out. :)

I remember when I bought one on my trip to Pittsburgh as a teenager, I was so confused by the words. I'd seen all the old footage, and I thought they were blank. I like Mr. Cope so I don't mind, but I've always wondered what the deal was. I assumed it was just to make money...

Seems like I remember reading something about local stores selling out of all their yellow hand towels. Someone came up with the idea to put the print on it to set them apart. Can't remember the whole story though.

    you got it glenn.

they promised and appeased the department store owners by making it official with the stamp, because the stores were selling a disproportionate amount of black and gold towels to the printed ones.

Mr. McKittrick, after very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new defense system sucks.

Staying on that topic. Why? Why was it significant to Myron?
