The Steelers have waived the following players- QB Vaughn (waived/injured), P Will Monday, LB Zumwalt, LB Reilly, WR Blakeney, WR Norwood, TE Cooper, DE Newberry, DT Mosely-Smith and CB Whigham.

Hawkins has been placed on IR.

Some surprises there. Zumwalt, Reilly... If say Vaughn but obviously the injury played its part.

Now the question is: who have other teams cut that we must sign immediately?

Not me. I watched him play in college at Ucla. I was stunned. STUNNED to see us draft him. He is awful. I caught one glimpse of him in the preseason (the Detroit game, I think) and watched a tackle shove him, effortlessly, about five yards backwards. That's about what I expected from him at this level.

I don't know why you would be surprised by Zumwalt being released, he's always injured and when he did play he didn't stand out.

I expected him to be cut, probably later than this though.

And peeps were pissed at me when I said quit drafting ucla lbers... They don't pan out here. Thought Zumwalt may pan out, but never liked the pick... Him or Bruce a few years ago!

Was the Hawkins injury not a surprise to most? I thought he was impressing and had the only sack last game.

He was basically done after this quote surfaced before camp even started.

Will Senquez Golson be the next Money Pit?

Umm, Hawkins is an OT. Giving up a sack wouldn't be impressing...lol

It's not really a surprise when you hear he tore his rotator cuff. That's his bread and butter there. He was impressing though and I thought the O-line might have a little depth to it this year.

Ugh Hawkin's to IR. I was thinking I just missed his playing time on Friday but I guess he didn't play at all. What injury did Hawkin's sustain? What's up with McCullers?

    :lolol:

6th and 7th rd picks I rarely get upset with who they choose. You're just throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what sticks at that point.
