"Deja vu? Baron Batch is stealing the show the 1st week of camp. Both with the "eye test" and in earning praise from Mike Tomlin"

Tomlin press conference now posted if you missed it.~

Re: Steelers Training Camp Day 4 7/28

Here's the highlights for those who don't want to/can't listen~

Good start for us as far as carrying our pads, good competion periods-
Running backs on linebackers and blitz pickup, Oline/Dline one on ones, WR/DB one on ones

Starting the process of putting them into competitive situations and starting to evaluate them

Obviously we won't read too much into it. We'll look at the tape and move forward

No news in regards to the guys who were previously reported injured.

One new minor injury is Sean Spence, he's got a shoulder. Fell to the ground yesterday in a passing situation. We just excercised a little caution...he was on the grass, but we did limit him.

Doesn't know which shoulder Spence's injury is, or if it's the same that bothered him at the combine.

He liked the energy and enthusiasm. We'll continue to clean up some of the professionalism.

When asked about pulling Rainey out of drills-
I'm not going to pull my boat with a Ferrari. If he can't cut in that drill, I don't want him in the drill.

When asked about the intensity at first snap-
Well, you got Willie colon in the drill. <laughs>

    What was his problem?
    Life. I don't know. <laughs>

What kind of leader is Clark?
He's a really good leader. He's an energy bringer instead of an energy drainer...

Did you see what you wanted to see in your top two picks?
Didn't see enough...time will tell that story.

How pleased were you with Baron Batch?
I liked the fact that there was no hesitation in his play. A guy that's coming off a knee injury..I thought he moved with authority and trust in the knee...he's a sharp young guy, he's coming back nicely.

Is there any news on the Mike Wallace front at all?
    None.

just have to say thanks, TTF. this is awesome. Planning on taking the kids down there in the next two weeks. 5 hour drive, but they'll love it (kids, btw, are 21, 19, and 16, born and bred Steelers fans).

Thank you, TTF, for the updates. I enjoyed every one of them! I need them here in Maryland. It is horrible what I must endure here.

If you don't lock up for a multi-year contract, we're just going to franchise you anyway. :hehehe:

If I were a WR I'd still be popping the champagne over that news, but that would spell doom for a guy like me. :lolol:

Awesome updates, TTF. The big takeaway for me: Steve McLendon has basically called Chris Hoke his BFF and blood brother, and Chris Hoke doesn't know Steve McLendon's name. :lolol:

    Thanks, Snack.

Ha, well, we'll cut him some slack. He is in his golden years of retirement now afterall. :lolol:
