Steelers Training Camp Day 13 08/11/2012

I had a full schedule today, so I'm late to the party on this one, but I'll update this thread over the next few minutes with the various reports I see coming out of Latrobe today.

Cam Heyward is practicing
Willie Colon back at practice, too
Dwyer and Redman both out of practice today

"David Johnson has ACL and MCL tear. Done for the season."
"Encouraging news regarding Steelers T Mike Adams ... he says he'll only be out two weeks, if that, with his knee injury"
"Mike Adams has right knee wrapped. Says injury not serious. Won't give time frame for return. No surgery. miss 1 game at most."
"OT Adams says he will be back soon. R knee hurt in game. Wont say what it is but said it wont keep him out 2 weeks"

"Mike Adams agrees mistakes vs Eagles more physical than mental. Same as Mike Tomlin's assessment. Had typical 1st game jitters."

"Johnson will have sugery when swelling subsides"

"Ramon Foster will work 1st team "right tackle or right guard" today with Colon back at LG."

"Marcus Gilbert will play both LT and RT with the first team today."

"Looks like DeCastro gets promoted to co-1st team RG with Foster."

"Mike Adams on field. Brace on right knee."

"Steelers won't put David Johnson on IR until 1st cut down date Aug.28.Have to cut somebody if they want to sign player to take his place now"

"Tomlin and AB having a good laugh during stretching. "We talkin about blocking." Tomlin tells across the field."

"Dwyer and Adams w jerseys on, on field but not participating."

"DeCastro taking all 1st ream reps at RG w Colon back."

"Chris Carter takes a shot to left quad but appears ok."

"Tyler Beiler continues to get open during Steelers team drills. Second coming of Tyler Grisham?"

"Larry Foote still raving about Spence hit 20 minutes later"

"Steelers OL coach Sean Kugler: DeCastro's our starting right guard."

 

Coach T just finished speaking with the media at the close of practice, here are a few notes from the brief interview:

Redman is out with a sore groin.

Adams has a "minor knee injury of some description".

He said he liked the work and energy he saw today.

When asked about Jamie Mccoy possibly taking the FB role-
'He's been working there as well as others, just going to keep working the healthy ones and see who works out'

He said they 'will evaluate the pup list guys after we get back from the next performance'.
