he's saying if its a one-for-one player trade with Schobert and Spillane. Schobert is running on a Mac system and Spillane on IOS

They can always create cap space.

He never looked like even that. He had 3 really good plays, the rest was average at times, below average mostly.

Similar type player in terms is style, but Schobert does everything better. He is just a much better version of Spillane is what I meant

That could be a good guess./ I did not see Washington at all tonight.

I read that he played poorly for the Jags. PFF had him ranked 91st among linebackers in the NFL last season, for what that's worth.

7 Ints in the last 2 years!

How many ILBs can say that?

Injured I believe. Do the Jags need Washington? They have Chark, Marvin Jones and Shenault already. That’s a good group if Lawrence is for real

Did not know that. I remember him as a solid player for the Browns and I was surprised when they let him go

Sometimes though a guy takes a big contract and is in a bad situation. Certainly true for the Steelers more times than I'd like.

Yeah anybody on that Jags defence last year was on a hiding to nothing. PFF will tell you that their grades allow for that though. Still, hope this is true. I’m not convinced about Spillane as a starter.

I was thinking that as well, I just dont see the draft capitol. Some of the rook WR's have been playing well...though we see that a lot in training camp. That said, they generally know WR's and just might have enough confidence to trade JW.

Spillane is a core SPer, that is it and I'd love to have him for years. He's is an upgrade of matekevich(sp?).

It's really to judge by last year. No camp, new team, all the covid stuff and that team was a crap show as it was. I am more worried about Bush, I know he has to get his confidence back, but at times lust looks lost and slow.

Spillane should not be covering 20 yards down the field in the first place. They have to stop having these linebackers do this. It doesn't matter what name is on the back.

If you watched the game tonight you saw the Eagle starting QB finish 3 of 7 with all 3 of those receptions coming from the TE position.

Not sure who you are expecting to cover those TEs and RBs? I am hoping you are not wanting our OLBs to drop back into pass coverage instead of Spilane and Bush?

I like it! I still think Spillane turns it around, its only preseason. I don't get the hate for him. He really played well and stepped up big for us last year. I'm not sure we will ever see Bush as we knew him before, just a hunch, something mentally is broken there. And I don't think Washington is being traded anywhere. I will take him any day over Johnson.

It would be trading from a position of depth to fill a position of need, which would make sense. I wonder why the Steelers half of the trade has not been announced?

Wow, into Pitt. That's a solid match.
Urben's doing a clearance sell and we're getting the discount. Sounds like a cash dump to me with a new regime.

The price? Assume "some" of his cost and a 6th or 7th.

New staff, we find a keeper in the bargain bin

I don't think the Jaguars can take any of the cap hit for his contract. That will all fall on the Steelers. Hopefully, the draft compensation was low.

Now if they can only find a cornerback. If they really didn't try to get Nelson to take a pay cut, they made a big mistake.

I remember Schobert's last season with Cleveland he was pretty good, he had a good game against Pittsburgh in that Myles Garrett helmet assault on Rudolph game.

Uhhh, he led them in the following stats:

    tackles (combined and solo)
    tackles for loss
    INTs (3) one was a pick 6 for 45yds
    Forced fumbles (2)

4th in QB hits and had 4 Passes defended.

Also, started all 16 games for them. The only guy to do that on the defense.

I don't think he played poorly for them. More than likely a new philosophy on defense with a huge contract they gave.

Does anybody know what the deal really is? Who/what are the Steelers sending back?
Are the Jags paying a portion of his salary?
