Steelers to wear throwback uniforms vs. Raiders - I like that.

The Raiders were always a tough foe, and they were usually the bullies on the block, the Steelers matched up well and exchanged punches with them well. I was at the immaculate reception game. I remember that despair changing to elation in seconds.

I'm not really a fan of 'retiring jerseys. But I do support withholding those numbers and issuing them out only in special circumstances.

It would be so cool if Harris catches a pass with time running out to win the game. Fitting game to honor the other Harris.

Did anyone hear the amazing interview by the Chief on 93.7 The Fan this morning? It was recorded on the morning after the immaculate reception and he was being interviewed by Ed Conway who was the WTAE sports announcer back then. The Chief left before the play to go into the team locker room to console them about the loss. He said Bob Prince told him that the Steelers had won as they were getting into the elevator but Prince said that he also was leaving early and didn't see how it happened. Rooney said that he was first into the locker room and then soon after the players rushed in yelling and celebrating. He said then that Chuck Noll walked in and knelt in the middle of the room and started saying the Lord's Prayer and the rest of the team knelt down with him. The Chief said that he didn't know if that's what they did after every game or just this time because of the incredible miracle that just happened.

That frigging scramble by Stabler, a guy that my sister could outrun.
The air just went out of the stadium.

Even though he was a Raider Kenny Stabler is a legend. How many guys could go out and party till like 5-6am in the morning take a nap then wake up and go QB a pro football team.

I hated the Raiders then and now, but they sure had lots of great players I learned to respect including Coach Art Shell. Met John Madden many many years later at Caesar's in Vegas, he was sitting alone having a sip in Cleopatra's Bar and I said hi/big fan and he bought me a drink and we talked football (but not a word that I was from Pittsburgh and a diehard/lifelong Steeler fan). RIP John - loved your style and Turducken episodes.

Hopefully they put gray face masks on too

That would be fantastic for this game, IMO

I just want to get back to the days of Archie Bunker and George Jefferson. It's crazy that people lose their minds over simple comedy but yet defend a song titled WAP.o_O

Saw a comedian do a bit on the outrage over the lyrics of "Baby, it's cold outside" but the song WAP was number one on the charts. Ridiculous. Not sure they played that one on the radio though....

I`m happy we will be wearing the throwback jerseys. I saw the "Immaculate Reception" live. It will help bring back memories.

What I most remember about the play was the confusion and the wait. Would the refs ok the play or not.

It was amazing. Something of an announcement to the NFL that we were contenders.

50 YEARS AGO. Damn. I`m getting old.

My parents were at that game. My dad's boss took a bunch of employees and their wives. Dad's boss missed it! He got up to start walking down one of the ramps. Heard the roar and ran back in. Dad said he (his boss) was crying. Not because he missed the play, but because the Steelers won the game.

People that didn't live through that era probably don't realize what those Steeler teams meant to Western Pa. The steel business was going down the tubes. Jobless rate was up, inflation. Then, these guys (and the Pirates) gave the city something to be proud of. I honestly get choked up watching some of that old footage. It was a great time to be a Steeler fan, those teams were so much fun to watch.
