Couldn't have said it better. Even if he did play, don't expect him to come in week 10 with new system to learn to light it up either though. He really is in sort of a losing situation. Even better yet reduce the tender offer to (what is it like 60% of the 2.4 million) like they can.

I'm almost positive the team's opportunity to reduce his tender has come and gone. It is what it is now. Just wondering ... is it too late for a trade or are we stuck with this distraction throughout camp and into the start of the season?

Come on man, you know by now what the response will be to that one... Ward was different etc. etc.

I think between Randy Moss-type receivers and miserly, oppressive team FOs there is a massive, massive range of situations in the NFL. I don't think it helps anyone to automatically oversimplify this matter into an either/or.

Ward was different...He had a couple more years under his belt. I'm don't think they should send Mike away but at the same time he has shown us he can run past three defenders and catch the long ball. However there is a fourth down catch in the superbowl a couple years ago that hit him square in the hands...and he dropped it. If you want Fitz money you better make some clutch catches. Come to camp, learn your play book, and show us the team is more important than your bank account.

I am starting to not like this guy. We have a great chance to do something special this year if everything pans out and he is putting a stick in the spokes. If nobody wanted to give a first rounder for him he should have seen the writing on the wall.

It has. The thing about that is we showed good faith by not enacting our right to reduce it when we could have yet he's STILL not here.

I think this is what a lot of the problems come down to. Smart as Mike is (say players and coaches), I doubt he's making all the financial decisions himself.

I hope that in 3 or 4 weeks we will have forgotten any of this every took place.

Well if it is all on Wallace and his agent is advising him otherwise then he's a complete fool imo. And E. Sanders has been saying how smart Wallace is. Well it would appear if the rumors are true then Sanders may want to rethink that comment.

Interesting... not that I would trust agent-talk too much, but that does appear to say it's more on Mike.

I still stand by my point that there is plenty of room in between two extremes for Wallace's situation to be assessed as. And my hope that soon we'll have forgotten all of this...

I was watching the camp coverage on NFL network last night and one of the experts said that Steelers were not a playoff team without Wallace. I hope someone in the organization hears about that and makes it bulletin board material.

Yes cook represented Jay Cutler and we know what happened there .. Calvin Johnson as well. Thats all I know

I think there are two problems. Mikes ego and that of his agent.
