Agree. It shows they want an upgrade at left tackle and are not sold on Dan Moore as that answer. They were trolling around looking to add Orlando Brown Jr.

I like Dan Moore but he is not the franchise player we need to protect Pickett for years to come. Their could be a possibility he can replace Chuks next season if released saving 8.750 mill and being the primary swing back up this season.

Issue is the loss of picks probably both the 2nd rounders unless we give up a next season pick. Dangle Dotson out there as well. I do feel he will be moved hopefully for a 4th or 5th.

Please stay away from Chicago. They want revenge and will ask for more than what’s actually deserved for this deal by conflating the Claypool misfire.

Darnell Wright from Tenneessee visiting the Steelers today. Makes me think they will stay put at 17 and take Wright if they visit goes well. Problem, though, the Packers may take him at 15.

That would be a hell of an ugly turn if the top three cornerbacks and the top four tackles were all gone before they pick at #17.

That's not gonna happen. It wouldn't surprise me if 4 QBs were taken before Steelers pick at #17.

I’m not sure what the disconnect is? This has been explained to you enough times to wonder if you’re trolling me or not.

Last year’s QB class was perceived as “weak” because each of the top prospects had glaring red flags.

Pickett - hand size, one year wonder
Ridder - Cincy competition, strange inconsistencies in accuracy, scheme/usage
Howell - coming off a down year, height, one-read scheme
    Corral - size, injury, scheme/usage
Willis - FCS, non-elite numbers, height, ability to read defense, scheme/usage

There was also a strong crop of “lower tier” QB free agents that were available, so teams went out and signed the Wentz, Ryan, Mariota, Trubisky, Dalton, Mayfield, and felt like they didn’t have to prioritize the QB class in 2022. This meant that there were maybe only a team or two ahead of us that was actually considering a QB.

While Stroud and Young have their own negative perceptions, they are viewed as much higher rated prospects than the 2022 crew. It doesn’t mean they will end up being better, but that they are valued much higher initially. Some years are just different than others. I’m not sure why one specific anomaly year has made you question the position in its entirety on future draft days.

They might want that, but it doesn’t mean we have to give it up. We can have discussions as long as we stand firm on our boundaries.

They signed off on the Claypool deal too. We didn’t force them to do it… just because it hasn’t worked out for them like they wanted doesn’t mean they specifically have it out for us. They (and all the other teams in the NFL) are trying to fleece the other team in EVERY deal. They want maximum value received for minimum assets given. I wouldn’t stray away from talking to them because of this.

The barefoot kicker in the first round was what threw me for a loop.

That’s my 1st round fear, though for me it’s 3 tackles, not 4. I view Skowronski as a conversion to G, and we sure don’t need a logjam there while other positions lack talent and depth.

His biggest negative on his bio was his foot odor. Although Rex Ryan said he had no issue sucking his toes :hehehe:

My " guess " would be IF...Jalen Carter is there at #9, and IF the Bears would trade it...The Steelers do it for Carter...

    * Could you imagine if this happened, and Carter turns out to be a Stud...

Screwed them with Claypool...Then gave it to them again, With the pick they gave us for Claypool
