The Steelers have signed former Baylor WR/KR Levi Norwood to a futures contract. Norwood is 6'2", 200 lbs and ran a 4.53 40 at his pro day last year.

Yea but we need secondary personnel. We're Fat, Dumb and Happy in the WR department. KR duties can be instructed to Wheaton.

I don't like Wheaton as a returner. I am still not sure why they didn't get Todman out there . Rumors the Steelers going to draft Apple at 25, lord I hope not he is another slot CB not a #1 or #2 . The Steelers need to make some moves and go get a real CB. The Top 2 are a lot better than Apple . If they stay put and take him at #25 we will be doomed another season.

Doomed really? Are you expecting a rookie corner to be a full-time starter on D? I can see playing snaps in some subpackages but not a majority of the game. I don't think taking a CB is going to make or break next season. Of course that assumes the guys that we do have that were hurt turn out to be as expected.

With the signing of this receiver does this hint at the Steelers feel one of our current receivers will not be on the team next season ? Just as someone said, we should be fat and happy with this position. I would be spending all my efforts in searching for corners and safeties.

Oh, do you want to give up our 2nd, and perhaps another pick to move up for Ramsey or Hargreaves?

They cut him a couple weeks before the regular season was over.

This just in.... Because the Steelers need help in the secondary, they can't sign players for other positions.

I think its time the steelers get a good free agent corner. Look how Revis helped New England last year. And our offense needs to start scoring tds in the red zone instead of going up and down the field only to kick for 3 more times than not. Our qb is part to blame but coaching has got to be the main problem. Like I tell new steeler fans this ain't 1975. We all knew where we were going that year.

Yep.. The Steelers have all this fire power but it seems it fails to get the TD's when needed. I think the coaching staff thought with our offense it was okay to have a secondary that was rather weak. I believe they felt they were just going to outscore opponents and that was that.

Yes Doomed, And yes a real CB can come in day 1 and this D will be a lot better than it is now . 1 real outside CB could help this Team go all the way . We missed winning the division because of CB play , we missed a bye because of CB play, we lost to Denver because of CB play ... So yes 1 CB can make that big of a difference .

Jalen Ramsey is a day 1 starter probably at FS though , but we could use that as well .Mackensie Alexander is a day 1 starter at CB. Vernon Heagraves is a day 1 starter. Then comes Apple another CB that just won't be able to play on the outside ,it will be a bad pick..Actually after those first 3 I don't like a huge chunk of those CB'S. If we don't get 1 of those guys we should wait til round #4 for Morgan Burns he is my slee
Exactly. Or trade a player or 2 .Or give up a future pick. Anything besides stay put and take Apple . I really don't like him at all as a outside CB ..

Maybe they're going to try and convert him to CB? He's got great measurables for that. Since the Steelers seem to know how to evaluate the WR position so well, maybe they're going about this all wrong. Just draft WR's and convert them to DB's.

I guess they can use the stacked WR group as trade bait during the draft or suspension alternatives at the beginning of the season if necessary. Other than that, I don't see much value added as opposed to other obvious position needs.

Quite. Camp bodies, something to talk about in the off-season, and the odd pleasant surprise or two. Nothing to read into in terms of future strategic directions of roster personnel.
