If he can stay healthy, it's not bad.

Thornhill is a 6 year starter, 4 with the Chiefs where he won 2 rings and the last 2 years with the Browns. This is a solid signing.

This is a really good signing if he can stay healthy and hasn’t lost a step.

Considering Kazee sucked last season Thornhill should be an upgrade.

I don't normally rag on players unless they really really suck, Cam Thomas I'm looking at you, but Kazee has sucked every year since being picked up. He is like a very very poor man's Mike Mitchell. Completely blows his assignment because he is looking to blow guys up.

I missed that Watts had surgery on his neck in January. Even without any clarity on what the procedure was, it doesn't sound good for tis season.

Rowe didn't play at all last season. That should tell you something.

Regarding Thornhill, I see no reason to be excited about one of the Browns' castoffs.

Can he play 50 yards off the ball like Minkah? Perfect fit.

    Trade Minkah!

These signings aren’t bad but they are operating as if they have no money, still bargain bin shopping when they had a lot of cap space.

Outside of Metcalf, this offseason seems like all the rest.

They must be planning on giving TJ a monster deal and or going to overpay for 41 year old Rodgers.

This fits into what I've been saying about him for a while, that Khan is too focused on every deal being a bargain.

T J is already accounted for $30M of the cap so that’s not an issue

Probably waiting for the old guy

Remember the uncapped year and how they spent as if there was a cap while other teams went on a spending spree and while you'd think those teams that blew their payroll up that year would feel the effects of it, we saw the Steelers be dinged a bit more for being fiscally responsible.

With Watt already accounting for $30M of cap I don't see his extension being an issue. In fact, teams often use the extension to convert some base salary to signing bonus proration to free up some dollars in the current year.

To me it looks like they're hedging their bets. Rodgers would be a short-term contract (1-2 yrs), so unless you want to bring void years into the equation - and I don't get the feeling Khan wants to do that with Rodgers - he's going to tie up a good amount of whatever his contract value would be in cap space.

He's doing the same thing with his free agency signings. After Fields and Moore, Jr. got big contracts early, the team was in line to get some good compensatory value next year. As of now OTC has them on path for a third, a fourth, and two sixths. Nearly all of the signings Khan has made have been released players (which would include Rodgers), or those with low enough contract amounts that they don't factor into the formula.

It's a careful, methodic way of playing things, but there's also a line between being smart and overthinking it. There's a case to be made for how they could've been more aggressive this offseason.

Can he tackle? Does he want to hit? Does
he want to tackle in cold weather, unlike our other defensive players
that did the ole down in Baltimore last year in playoffs. I am sick of it!

Most all the moves made, the analysis starts like "There's not much risk in this signing."

I'm not impressed but willing to wait and see.
RE: This guy, he hasn't generated a turnover since his KC days.

Well, two of those guys that didn't want to tackle in Baltimore are gone in Jackson, and Kazee .

Minkah has only created like one turnover in the last three years, so Thornhill would fit right in the secondary .
